About the Department

The diseases we investigate and treat are much more than just "crooked fingers," and we have a clear profile towards clinical research. We have the opportunity to provide our patients with lifelong care characterized by knowledge, security, and care.

The department has two clinics: Sahlgrenska Hospital and one at Mölndal Hospital. Rotation between these two outpatient units occurs in the position. At Sahlgrenska, there is a rehabilitation pool where we offer group training for patients.

The clinics are open during daytime Monday-Friday, closed on weekends and public holidays. Once a month, we have evening clinics, where two nursing assistants work together with nurses and doctors based on a rotating schedule. During vacation periods, Christmas/New Year, and certain holidays, the Mölndal unit closes, and all clinics take place at Sahlgrenska.

Job Responsibilities

The work as a nursing assistant in outpatient care involves standard duties with a high degree of personal responsibility, including interesting practical and administrative tasks.

• Register referrals for sampling after prescription and/or according to routine for the medical preparations the patient is on
• Update and ensure sampling instructions in the medical record
• Venipuncture according to referral
• Assist doctors with joint injections and joint aspirations
• Follow-up phone calls according to template, after new medication initiation
• Handling cases in 1177, booking sampling times
• Implement prescriptions from doctors
• ECG, vital parameters
• Special tests for rheumatic diseases, including saliva measurement and Schirmer test (tear fluid)
• Lead pool sessions

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant with a few years of experience. Good computer skills and experience working in various computer systems. Experience with venipuncture is a requirement. We would appreciate it if you have an interest in physical activity, as the job also involves leading patients in pool training.

You meet patients with warmth, respect, and a pedagogical approach. You have a good ability to see the whole person in a care context and work health-promoting by motivating patients to self-care and increased well-being.

You thrive in a varying pace and work equally well independently as part of a team. You collaborate well with colleagues in different professional roles and have clear and professional communication in meetings with patients and relatives.

You are structured, responsible, and have a good ability to plan and prioritize your work based on the department's needs. We see that you are confident in yourself, have good empathetic abilities, and contribute to a good reception and developing work environment.
