Region Västerbotten is looking for Nursing Assistants for Operation 3 in Umeå

The Clinic of Anesthesia, Surgery and Intensive Care provides emergency and planned surgical care, anesthesia, postoperative care, intensive care for children and adults, as well as sterile technical services at the regional and county level. This is done in close collaboration and in partnership with other clinics in the county. The clinic is also responsible for air-borne intensive care in the north, as well as conducting research, development, and education.
At Operation 3, we work with highly specialized cancer surgery and vascular surgery. This includes upper gastrointestinal surgery such as pancreatic, liver, and esophageal resections. Colorectal surgery, gynecology, urology, and endocrine surgery such as breast and thyroid operations. Advanced vascular surgery such as abdominal aorta and carotid surgery. Several operations from the mentioned specialties are performed using robot-assisted surgical techniques. We are also responsible for organ donation and multi-trauma care.
Operation 3 in Umeå is now looking for a Nursing Assistant. Every day, we work together in cross-professional teams and across departmental boundaries to save, improve, and extend lives. Job Responsibilities
As a Nursing Assistant with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure.
As a Nursing Assistant within Surgery, you have a key role in the operating room. The work involves close collaboration with nurse anesthetists, scrub nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons. The Nursing Assistant prepares the operating room before surgery and sets it up after the operation together with the rest of the surgical team. During the operation, the Nursing Assistant acts as the scrub nurse's right hand. The role also includes mentoring students, as Norrlands University Hospital is a teaching hospital. The work as a Nursing Assistant is a varied and educational profession where the work pace can vary from calm situations to more acute ones.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are trained as a Nursing Assistant with grades in emergency care, and preferably with a specialist course in surgery, anesthesia, and intensive care. Since "Nursing Assistant" is a protected title, you need to provide a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen), or alternatively, a certificate of employment that shows you are covered by the National Board of Health and Welfare's transitional provisions and can use the title until June 30, 2033.
Meritorious is experience working in surgery and other emergency care. You have a good basic technical understanding and see it as an exciting challenge to utilize our technical aids.
As a person, we see that you have good collaboration skills, are flexible in thought and action, and have the ability to make quick decisions. You have a drive to contribute to the development of the operations. We also see that you actively contribute to a good work environment and contribute to security, learning, respect, and a professional attitude.
Employment type: Fixed-term appointment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: By agreement.
Working hours: Shift schedule.
