About the workplace
Resurscentrum för kommunikation Dako (Resource Centre for Communication Dako) is a county-wide operation that supports prescribers regarding questions about and trials of communication aids and control methods. Here, an interdisciplinary team consisting of occupational therapists, IT technicians, speech-language pathologists, and special educators works together. The operation has nine employees and has reception centers in Halmstad and Varberg.
Dako's operations also include prescribing alternative telephony to individuals who, due to hearing loss, deafness, or speech difficulties, cannot use a standard telephone. Here you will also find Datateket, where people with disabilities are given the opportunity to try out various apps and programs to stimulate and promote activity, communication, play, and learning.
About the job
As a manager at Region Halland, your task is to steer and lead with a focus on results, as well as to engage and motivate employees. You are the employer's representative and represent Region Halland, which means you have an understanding of the organization as a whole.
In the role of department manager, you report directly to the operations manager and are part of the operation's management group together with five colleagues. There, you work together to develop the entire operation forward. This requires collaboration and cooperation with other actors, both within and outside Region Halland.
In the work as department manager, you lead the unit towards set goals and are responsible for the unit's economy, personnel, and working environment. You have access to financial support, HR support, and managerial support from the administration. In your managerial role, you also have access to Region Halland's manager program, and we can offer you mentorship or other guidance and competence development.
The managerial assignment is combined with a role as operations developer for the Communication operations, which, in addition to Dako, include Hearing Habilitation, Hearing Clinic, Syncentralen, and the Interpreter Center.
You are employed in a permanent position in your core profession with an appointment as manager for four years.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with a relevant university degree or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent. We would like you to have previous experience from healthcare and/or habilitation/rehabilitation. It is meritorious if you have previous managerial experience or have completed a leadership course, e.g., "Tomorrow's Leaders".
You have a good ability to create trusting relationships and can utilize employees' competence and engagement as a means to achieve the operation's goals. You create a sense of team by involving and motivating employees. You communicate clearly in a way that creates trust and participation. You see the positive aspects in change and improvement processes, which you have a desire to lead and participate in. As a manager, you are a role model, and your values align with Region Halland's value base. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
For this position, you are required to have very good knowledge of the Swedish language. You should be able to formulate yourself well in both speech and writing and have experience in creating and converting facts and materials into text and presentations. A B-class driver's license is a requirement.
