Description

Social Services Administration Hisingen is now looking for a Senior Social Secretary who wants to help build and lead a new security team for children and young people (0–18 years). The role is particularly suitable for you who have experience and a leadership role from both child welfare investigations and family therapy.

The security team will consist of two social secretaries, two family therapists, and one Senior Social Secretary with leadership responsibilities, organized within one of Hisingen's investigation units but working for the entire BoU Authority, Resource, and Foster Care Service.

A central part of the assignment is to identify, mobilize, and involve the family and network to strengthen the child's safety and create lasting solutions, in cases where there is high concern for the child/young person's situation with a risk of placement. The goal is to create sustainable solutions for children to stay at home or reunite with their custodians in a safe manner, while reducing the need for placements outside the home. The security team should also contribute to increasing the opportunities for network placements in collaboration with the Foster Care Unit and jointly developed working methods that enable rapid placements within the child's network.

The security team's assignment is to work cross-professionally and take collective responsibility for authority exercise, risk and protection assessments, treatment interventions, and follow-up of the child's situation, as well as working with working methods such as safety planning, network meetings, and high-intensity treatment work. Safety planning means that the team mobilizes the parents and their network to achieve a safety plan, which describes who should do what so that the child/young person is always safe and secure.

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities consist of intensive family work where the team meets the families several times a week. This may involve irregular working hours, which the team can largely influence. The work is flexible, complex, and challenging.

All employees in the security team should eventually have the competence to perform all job duties and undergo training for a common and uniform approach in the work with risk and protection assessments and safety planning. Training in Signs of Safety and experience in network work are meritorious for the positions.

As the Senior Social Secretary for the security team, you are responsible for leading and distributing the daily work according to current legislation, supporting and developing the employees, and driving the construction and implementation of the new security team together with colleagues and the unit manager. The role also involves close collaboration with other units, managers, and senior colleagues, participation in networks and forums within the department and the city.

Qualifications

The position requires a degree in social work as well as experience in both authority exercise within children and young people and family therapy. You have good ability to express yourself in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing. You need to have good knowledge of child development, current legislation, and guidelines in the area, as well as an interest in development and change work. The employer is looking for a person with good leadership skills who is structured, collaborative, and focused on the best interests of the child. You may quickly need to change perspective and approach and always need to have a solution-oriented approach. Experience of leadership, safety planning, training in Signs of Safety, family and network work, knowledge of Treserva, and a B driver's license are meritorious.

In summary, this is a combined leadership, specialist, and development role for you who want to help shape a new way of working with a focus on children's safety, family participation, and the network's importance for long-term sustainable solutions.
