About the Role
We are now looking for a Senior Social Secretary as our current one is taking the next step to become a Unit Manager.
Do you want the opportunity to work at Placement 1? A unit with a strong commitment to our mission: to ensure safe, legally secure, and high-quality care for children and young people placed in foster homes.
Here, you will become part of a leadership group characterized by strong professional pride, good cohesion, and high competence. You will work closely with other Senior Social Secretaries on both your own unit and the Foster Care Unit in Hjällbo, providing stable and experienced collegial support. Your role is central to creating structure, peace of mind, and professional conduct in daily work.
You lead a group of four to five Child Secretaries through methodological supervision, case reviews, and ongoing operational support, both in groups and individually. You are active in developing working methods, quality, and legal security within the unit. The position involves representing the committee in court, collaborating with other units, and contributing to the city's joint development work.
We work with Signs of Safety, LÖSA, and BBIC, and you are offered continuous competence development and process supervision. Northeast Gothenburg is a dynamic part of the city with a great need for stability, clarity, and professional leadership. We are looking for someone who wants to be present in everyday life, enjoys the complexity of the assignment, and contributes to a safe and learning work environment.
The administration actively works with working time innovations, and the unit will from autumn be part of the 4-day week project.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a social work degree and extensive experience in public authority work with children and young people. You also need to have very good knowledge of BBIC and a secure understanding of case processes. It is an advantage if you have experience in a supervisory role or mentoring colleagues. We also see it as an advantage if you have experience with Treserva and familiarity with Signs of Safety or other structured working methods.
You must have the ability to provide clear, pedagogical, and practically useful supervision and can translate knowledge into concrete steps in case work. You listen, articulate assessments, and create understanding. You have high integrity and a secure, warm, and professional demeanor. In the role, you also need the ability to prioritize, structure, and create peace of mind even in complex cases.
We are looking for a leader who:
- Creates security through presence.
- Is curious, exploratory, and clear in assessments.
- Works developmentally with their group and supports both experienced and new case handlers.
- Takes responsibility for quality and legal security.
- Views relational leadership as the foundation for everything else.
With us, you get:
- A workplace with engaged colleagues and strong professional competence.
- Regular process supervision.
- The opportunity to actively shape working methods and contribute to quality development.
- Development opportunities within both leadership and methodology.
- An assignment where you make a difference – for real.
Selection and interviews will take place on an ongoing basis. We welcome your application!
