To our operations center in Gothenburg, we are looking for System Engineers within Transmission (TRM) for new assignments within critical communications, covering operation, maintenance, and monitoring of, among other things, the national radio communication system, Rakel.
At LFV, you and your colleagues will ensure reliable and secure communication for societal-critical functions in areas such as public order, safety, health, and total defense.
About the role
As a System Engineer, you will be a key person in ensuring that societal-critical communication services function optimally. In this role, you will work as second-line support and handle operation, maintenance, development, and technical support within your specialist area.
You will also perform configuration changes and actively contribute to creating and improving routines, instructions, and documentation in our knowledge base. Together with colleagues, you ensure that information and work processes are kept up-to-date and relevant. This role offers a combination of technical problem-solving, administration, and developmental tasks where you have the opportunity to make a real difference for society's critical communication services.
Main responsibilities
- Responsible for planning, implementation, operation, and development of transmission networks
- Participate in projects within the scope of the role
- Perform HLD (High-Level Design) and LLD (Low-Level Design) in existing and new networks
- Train operations staff on current solutions
- Maintain the quality of data entered into databases and support systems

We see that you have:
- A post-secondary education in IT/telecommunications or other experience deemed equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in the field
- Very good knowledge of SDH and PDH
- Very good knowledge of radio links
- Experience in network design and troubleshooting
- Good knowledge of telecommunication, data, radio, or broadband networks and their structure and interconnections
- Good ability to speak and write fluently in Swedish and English
- Good computer and system proficiency
Merits for this position include:
- Knowledge of Ericsson MINI-LINK
- Knowledge of Nokia FlexiPacket and Dynanet
- Knowledge of Connection Master
- Knowledge of RAD TDM equipment
- Knowledge of Element Managers for transmission systems
- Knowledge of synchronization of transmission systems
- IP knowledge equivalent to CCNA
- Experience with and understanding of ITIL
- Technical understanding of TETRA/4G/5G
- Experience in technical support at a mobile operator
- Experience working with TETRA systems, such as Rakel
Other information
The positions are permanent with the workplace in Gothenburg. On-call duty may be included in the employment.
Before employment, LFV conducts a security clearance which includes, among other things, register check, security interview, and drug test. This position requires Swedish citizenship.
What is NMC?
The Network Management Center (NMC) is our operations center in Gothenburg. At NMC, there is a Network Operation Centre (NOC) which is staffed 24/7 with operations engineers who handle monitoring and perform initial fault analysis, as well as initiate and execute fault resolution. At NMC, there are also several teams of system engineers specialized in infrastructure, systems, and communications, etc. These groups function as second-line support for the NOC.
