LFV is now looking for IP System Engineers based in Gothenburg to work on a new assignment within critical communications. The assignment involves the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the national radio communication system, Rakel.

At LFV, you and your colleagues will ensure reliable and secure communication for societal critical functions in areas such as public order, security, health, and total defense.

About the Role

In this role, you will serve as second-line support and handle operation, maintenance, development, and technical support within your area of expertise.

You will also perform configuration changes and actively contribute to creating and improving routines, instructions, and documentation in our knowledge base. Together with other employees, you ensure that information and work processes are kept up-to-date and relevant. This role offers a combination of technical problem-solving, administration, and developmental tasks where you have the opportunity to make a real difference for society's critical communication services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, planning, implementation, operation, and development of IP networks.
  • Participate in developing the technical roadmap for IP networks.
  • Technical responsibility for the planning and execution of delivery projects.
  • Perform HLD (High Level Design) and LLD (Low Level Design) in existing and new networks.
  • Experience in deeper troubleshooting in IP-based networks.
  • Configure existing and new networks within assignments and projects.
  • Train operations staff on current solutions.
  • Maintain the quality of data entered into databases and support systems.

We see that you have:

  • A post-secondary education in IT/Telecommunications or other experience we consider equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field at CCNP level or similar.
  • Very good knowledge of routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Very good knowledge of configuration, design, and implementation.
  • Experience in network design and troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge of telecommunication, data, radio, or broadband networks and their structure and interconnections.
  • Good ability to read and interpret technical documentation in both Swedish and English.
  • Good ability to speak and write fluently in Swedish and English.
  • Good computer and system proficiency.

Meritorious qualifications for this position include:

  • Product knowledge of Cisco, Palo Alto, Arista, or Juniper.
  • Experience in IP security.
  • Knowledge of Element Managers for networks.
  • Experience with and understanding of ITIL.
  • Technical understanding of TETRA, 4G, or 5G.
  • Experience in technical support for a mobile operator.
  • Experience working with TETRA systems, such as Rakel.

Other Information

The positions are permanent with a workplace in Gothenburg. Duty on the standby list may be included in the employment.

Before employment, LFV conducts a security clearance which includes, among other things, register checks, security interviews, and drug tests. This position requires Swedish citizenship.

What is NMC?

The Network Management Center (NMC) is our operations center in Gothenburg. At NMC, the Network Operation Centre (NOC) is staffed 24/7 with operations engineers who handle monitoring, perform initial fault analysis, and initiate and execute fault resolution. NMC also hosts several teams of system engineers specialized in infrastructure, systems, and communications, etc. These groups serve as second-line support to the NOC.
