Västergötlands Museum is an attractive visitor destination and a well-known cultural institution in West Sweden and nationally. With one of Sweden's richest collections of objects, around 40 buildings, extensive green areas, and a museum farm, the museum offers a unique combination of cultural heritage, nature, and research.

Västergötlands Museum is an independent foundation with the purpose of conducting and promoting cultural heritage conservation and museum activities, as well as other cultural activities within Skaraborg. Collaborating with representatives of the state cultural heritage administration within the county and managing the foundation's collections, buildings, land areas, and other assets are also part of the museum's mission.

The museum's founders are the Region of Västra Götaland, Skara Municipality, and the Västergötland Antiquarian Society. Read more about the museum's activities at www.vastergotlandsmuseum.se (http://www.vastergotlandsmuseum.se).

We are developing and strengthening our operations and are looking for another Building Archaeologist (Byggnadsantikvarie).

Otherwise, the role mainly involves advising and disseminating knowledge to the public, handling planning and building permit cases, and to some extent carrying out assignments such as archaeological participation, documentation, and investigations.

You should be outgoing, experienced in leading projects, and able to work both independently and in a team. The role involves collaborating with other organizations and institutions to preserve, care for, and disseminate Skaraborg's building heritage.
