Are you passionate about developing production technology and driving continuous improvements? Do you want to work with advanced equipment and drive efficiency in a global industrial environment? Apply today and become part of our growth journey! 🎯

At Westermo, we are known for robust products and high quality. In the factory in Stora Sundby, we manufacture circuit boards and then final-assemble the finished product. Our Operations team in Stora Sundby is embarking on an exciting development journey; we are growing globally and collaborating with operations colleagues around the world. We are also continuing our work with digitalization and AI implementation, which means many exciting opportunities for the factory and the Operations organization. We have already invested, and continue to invest, in the Stora Sundby factory regarding facilities, machinery, and production flow.

We want to expand our Production Engineering team and are now looking for the next colleague. We are open to different profiles; either you have more experience and interest in the machines and production technology itself, or you lean more towards production development. Perhaps you have worked extensively in projects, implemented production of new products, or similar. However, the most important thing is that you have experience in electronics manufacturing.

You will be part of the Production Engineering function within Westermo Operations, a department with two groups that combine technical expertise with strategic development work. We support daily production, focusing on efficiency, finding smart solutions, and digitalizing and globalizing our production.

Are you our new Production Developer?

In this role, you are the technical expert, together with your colleagues, for our advanced production equipment. Your closest colleagues are the other production engineers, as well as the operators who have additional roles as "PT-nära" (Production Engineering close), a kind of first-line support for production engineering questions in manufacturing.

You ensure optimal performance through programming, calibration, maintenance, service, and troubleshooting. In addition to daily work, you participate in improvement projects and contribute to global initiatives that increase efficiency and quality. The role also includes documenting, writing instructions, and developing and improving our working methods.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Program, calibrate, and optimize machines for high quality in production

  • Perform maintenance, service, and repairs to minimize downtime

  • Communicate with external partners (in both Swedish and English)

  • Troubleshoot technical problems

  • Generate technical product information (Labeling)

  • Implement and follow up on quality controls

  • Participate in projects for process development, investment in new equipment, digitalization, and industrialization of new products.

  • Act as project manager/sub-project manager in Operations projects.

  • Collaborate globally to support production units in Europe and India (where we recently opened a small final assembly factory for local volumes).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you, who is a proactive problem solver with a strong interest in technology and a drive for continuous improvements. You want to use your experience to make a difference. You want and can influence your work, and are looking for a new place to use your knowledge and continue to develop in a constantly evolving organization.

You thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy cross-functional work, and have good communication skills. You have a background in electronics manufacturing and production engineering work, or similar.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in electronics, mechanical engineering, etc.

  • Experience from electronics production

  • Strong skills in maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or process optimization

  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Merits:

  • Knowledge of automation

  • Knowledge of IPC standards

  • CAD skills

  • Programming skills and experience with data analysis tools

And don't worry – you are not expected to be an expert in everything from the start. You will learn from us!

What do we offer?

You will work at the forefront of technology in a friendly and open culture, where you have the opportunity every day to learn from competent colleagues. We have mature and considerate leadership in a flat organization. Through our collective agreement, you are covered by benefits such as insurance and pension. We like to have fun together and regularly organize sports and social activities as a team. We believe that magic happens when people meet. We are a learning organization that loves to try new things, think creatively, and be innovative together!
