Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics
The department's premises are mainly located in the Arrhenius Laboratories, together with the other chemistry departments and other departments within the Faculty of Science. We are nearly 270 employees currently active at the department. The research is of absolute world-class standard and spans several major areas.

Job Description
You will work in a research group studying how chemicals affect the development of the nervous system. For this, we use various cell and computer models. As a research assistant, you will culture neuronal cells and perform experimental analyses, handle toxic chemicals, conduct risk assessments, and carry out general maintenance of laboratories and equipment. Your duties also include image and data analysis as well as documentation. Participation in general group activities and areas of responsibility is also included in this position.
Qualifications
A science degree in biochemistry, molecular/cell biology, toxicology, or equivalent. Documented experience in cell culture, in vitro toxicity testing, chemical handling, and risk assessment is required. Knowledge of microscopy and advanced image analysis using tools such as CellProfiler is desirable. You must have experience working independently within neurotoxicological fields. Good knowledge of English is required. Personal qualities important for the position include being meticulous, organized, having good teamwork skills, and being problem-solving oriented. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
About the Position
The position is part-time (75%) for a duration of 3 months, with a start date to be agreed upon. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting.
