Are you an independent service technician who thrives with freedom under responsibility and wants to work with advanced technology at the customer's site? Do you want a varied daily routine where you can combine troubleshooting, mechanics, and customer contact – while developing long-term within an international company?
Then this might be the role for you.
About the company:
Aebi-Schmidt is an international group with over 10,000 employees globally and is a leading player in machinery and equipment for road maintenance, airports, and municipal operations.
The Swedish operations are based in Skänninge and serve customers across the country – from smaller contractors to major players in the municipal, airport, and defense sectors.
The company offers a wide product range and invests long-term in its employees through training, development, and internal career opportunities.
About the role:
As a traveling service technician, you will work with service, troubleshooting, and repair of Aebi-Schmidt machinery at customer sites and, to some extent, in the workshop. The work is planned by the service coordinator, but you are responsible for carrying out the assignments in an efficient and high-quality manner.
The role involves travel across large parts of Sweden and, in some cases, internationally. Overnight stays may occur during certain periods.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Performing service, troubleshooting, and repair within electrical systems, hydraulics, and some pneumatics
- Working both at customer sites (approx. 40–80%) and in the workshop
- Handling multiple assignments per day or longer jobs (1–3 days)
- Carrying out practical tasks such as welding, adjustment, calibration, and software updates
- Reading and working according to technical documentation and manuals
- Maintaining ongoing dialogue with the customer before, during, and after the work
- Documenting work daily (time, materials, actions)
- Managing spare parts and materials during ongoing assignments
- Being responsible for the service vehicle, tools, and equipment
- Booking your own travel and overnight stays according to policy
You work independently but always have support from technical support, both locally and within the group.
We are looking for you who:
- Have a vehicle technology education with further training (e.g., from a brand workshop) or education in forestry/agriculture
- Have experience in advanced troubleshooting and service
- Have basic knowledge of electrical systems and hydraulics
- Can read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Are computer literate and comfortable with digital reporting
- Speak and write fluent Swedish or English
- Hold a valid driver's license (Category B)
- Are available to travel and stay overnight for work
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience with pneumatics
- Certificates for hot work, crane operation, or fall protection
- Experience with workshop work (drilling, turning, milling)
- Electrical or high-voltage training
- SSG (Safety, Health, and Environment) certification
- Knowledge of German
As a person, you are responsible, solution-oriented, and thrive working independently. You have good communication skills and build trust in customer interactions. You are structured in your work and have a desire to develop long-term within the role.
