About Us

The psychiatric clinic in Strängnäs is a specialist psychiatric outpatient clinic for the population of Strängnäs municipality. We are part of the psychiatric department at Mälarsjukhuset. The clinic is located approximately 10 minutes from Strängnäs travel center.

About 28 dedicated staff members work at the clinic – care assistants, secretaries, doctors, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers. The clinic has a broad target group; we treat ADHD, affective disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosis, trauma, addiction, and eating disorders. The clinic is characterized by broad competence, a good work environment, flexibility, teamwork, and the opportunity to actively participate in development work.

Your Responsibilities

As a care assistant with us, you have a central role; you work closely with the patient and are an important part of the team. Your tasks are qualified and varied and include among other things:

• Conduct independent, structured supportive conversations with patients with varying care needs, where the most severely mentally ill patients are highly represented.
• Receive new patients for arrival conversations.
• Provide support to relatives and support for children in stressed families.
• Follow up on patients' mental well-being, work with suicide prevention, and provide acute conversation interventions.
• Perform planned home visits with a colleague, participate in acute home visits together with a doctor for e.g., care certificate assessments.
• Perform sample collections such as pulse and blood pressure as well as urine samples for driver's license cases and other frequently occurring urine sampling within e.g., the addiction area.
• Conduct ADHD information conversations with patients prior to ADHD investigations.
• Administrative tasks related to the patient's care.
• Plan and be a group leader at group training for patients and relatives.
• Collaborate with e.g., social psychiatry/municipality and other care neighbors.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who

• Are educated as a mental health care assistant/nursing assistant with a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare.
• Have substantial experience working in psychiatry, preferably both in inpatient and outpatient care.
• Are flexible, secure, structured, responsible, and enjoy working in a team.
• Have the ability to take own responsibility, work independently, and assess when you need to ask for support.
• Have a professional attitude and feel secure in conducting difficult conversations.
• Are curious, non-hierarchical, and see the value in different perspectives.
• Have a B driver's license.
