Development Coordinator – Crime Prevention and ANDTS

Do you want to help direct, challenge, and strengthen the development potential in Malmö to increase safety and sustainability? We are looking for a Development Coordinator who wants to contribute to coordinating and strengthening the city's crime prevention work, with a special focus on ANDTS (Anti-Social, Destructive, and Terrorist-Related Coordination).

Responsibilities

In this role, you work with your colleagues on the overall coordination and further development of the city's work regarding crime prevention issues and ANDTS. You contribute to creating long-term, systematic, and cohesive work in this area in close collaboration with the city's operations and external actors.

In the role, you work on developing structures, methods, and strategies where promoting and preventive perspectives are integrated into the daily operations of various departments. You produce analyses, planning and follow-up materials, and contribute to the steering and development of the city's work from a holistic perspective.

You monitor developments in the field and translate knowledge into well-founded decision-making materials that move the work forward. This involves preparing remiss responses, motions, and other matters for the Municipal Executive Board.

Collaboration is a key part of the role. You initiate and lead networks, drive educational and information initiatives, and work in close dialogue with actors at local, regional, national, and international levels. As a representative of the City of Malmö, you represent the organization in various contexts where you present and facilitate dialogues on issues related to the city's work in this area, in both Swedish and English.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a holistic perspective and strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex issues and translate them into practice. Furthermore, you are structured, self-motivated, and drive your work forward with a focus on goals and results, while handling and driving multiple processes in parallel.

You are relationship-building and thrive in a role with many contact points. You recognize the importance of networks and are keen on maintaining relationships. You communicate clearly, adapt your message to the audience, and feel comfortable representing the City of Malmö in both small and large contexts.

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic degree in fields such as behavioral sciences, public health science, political science, criminology, law, or another direction assessed by the employer as equivalent. Alternatively, a validated foreign equivalent to any of the above.
• Several years of relevant work experience in public sector operations within a similar work area as described in the advertisement.
• Experience in independently driving and coordinating assignments in large organizations with many stakeholders.
• Experience in analysis, planning, and follow-up work at an operational level.
• Documented experience in writing reports, compiling, and conveying information.
• Good knowledge of relevant legislation in the field.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Word, PowerPoint, or equivalent.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Knowledge of other languages spoken in Malmö.

About the Workplace

The Sustainability Department at the City Office leads, coordinates, and oversees the city's work in areas including sustainability, rights issues, local development, security, preparedness, and safety. Within the department, the Security and Preparedness Unit is responsible for developing and following up on the city's work in the areas of security, preparedness, and crime prevention at a general level. The unit is responsible, among other things, for overall work on security and operational protection, leading the city's handling of unwanted events, event safety, the function of the official on standby, internal control, and the city's insurance coverage.

The City Office directs, challenges, and strengthens the development potential in the organization, the city, and the region. We are the administration for the Municipal Executive Board and work with a holistic perspective close to the city's leadership. The City Office consists of seven different departments and has a total of approximately 300 employees. Our departments work within a broad spectrum of areas, and the administration has many employees with high specialist competence.
