We are currently looking for two personal assistants for our staffing pool who want to contribute to creating independence, participation, and security for our citizens in their daily lives. As a personal assistant with us, you will enjoy a stimulating work environment with great opportunities to develop in your professional role. The assignment involves staffing various tasks within the Disability Sector located around Östersund Municipality.

The pool's assignment is to cover both planned and emergency absences. Working hours follow a flexible schedule with shifts throughout the entire day and night, varying depending on who you work with. This includes days, evenings, sleeping on-call, weekends, and 24-hour shifts. As an employee in the pool, you are involved in schedule planning together with your work team. You will also receive a salary supplement for this assignment.

These positions are permanent full-time (100%) employment. A probationary period may apply, and start dates are by agreement.

Your new job

As a personal assistant in the pool, you are a vital source of security for citizens with disabilities. You work independently and provide support both inside and outside the home, always based on the individual's needs, wishes, and conditions.

The work is varied, and you will encounter different types of tasks. You support with everything from personal care and intimate hygiene to daily chores such as shopping, cooking, walking, laundry, and cleaning. You may also accompany individuals on activities and excursions, being a reliable companion and support in social situations. In this role, you work to promote health, contribute to increased independence, and create conditions for a secure and meaningful daily life for the citizen. The assignment involves covering absences within the unit, and your primary workplace is the citizen's home.

We offer varied and meaningful work where you, as a personal assistant, have the opportunity to make a real difference. Today, we support 13 citizens with various disabilities, aged 4–80. This creates a dynamic work environment where flexibility and the ability to adapt are important qualities.

We would like you to have the ability to support, motivate, and guide citizens in their efforts to participate in society and engage in activities outside the home.

Documentation is part of our work, which we are legally required to perform. Therefore, it is important that you, as a worker with us, have good computer skills.

Your qualifications

Requirements

  • A driver's license and access to a personal car are required as some citizens live outside the city center
  • Experience in care and social work
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken, written, and reading comprehension

Merits

  • Experience working as a personal assistant
  • Education deemed relevant by the manager in relation to care is a plus, although your personal qualities will be valued higher
  • Good computer skills

Since our citizens have different ways of communicating, we also look for you to have pedagogical skills and the ability to adapt your way of conveying information so that it is understandable, secure, and supportive for each person.

  • Before any potential employment, you must provide a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) and the suspicion register. You will receive more information about this if we assess that you are a current candidate.
