Your responsibilities

Do you want to work with advanced data analysis and contribute to more reliable and sustainable energy production? We are currently recruiting, on behalf of our client Siemens Energy, a Diagnostic Rules Engineer / Technical Analyst for their Remote Diagnostic Center in Finspång.

In this role, you will work on developing innovative analysis solutions that identify faults and deviations in gas and steam turbines before they lead to downtime. You will analyze large amounts of sensor data, develop new diagnostic methods, and contribute to improving Siemens Energy's remote diagnostic services for customers worldwide.

As a Diagnostic Rules Engineer, you will among other things:

  • Further develop existing analysis models and create new methods to identify various failure modes in gas and steam turbines.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists in areas such as vibration, performance, combustion, and control systems to understand challenges in the turbine fleet and develop analysis solutions.
  • Develop and implement analysis functions using internal analysis tools as well as programming in Python and block programming.
  • Support diagnostic engineers with advanced analysis tools and technical solutions.
  • Ensure that existing analyses are kept up to date and continue to deliver high quality over time.

The team consists of specialists in Sweden and Thailand with broad technical competence and a strong focus on innovation, collaboration, and continuous development.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree or Master of Science in Engineering in fields such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, control engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
  • Approximately 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working with large datasets and time-series data, preferably with tools like Pandas and NumPy.
  • Good knowledge of Python. Experience with block programming is a plus, and knowledge in machine learning is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and an interest in complex technical systems.
  • Experience with gas and steam turbines is an advantage. Knowledge of the MGT fleet (SGT600–SGT800) is particularly valuable.
  • Very good proficiency in English, both spoken and written. Swedish is an advantage.
