School Counselor at Rinmangymnasiet 3

Are you an engaged counselor who wants to work with students with complex needs? Do you have the ability to build relationships and foster social interaction? Then this position might be for you. We are now looking for a school counselor for Rinmangymnasiet 3!

Rinmangymnasiet 3 consists of seven smaller units, and we are here for students with complex needs aged 16–20. Each unit has its own profile based on student needs, and they are usually located in premises outside of regular high schools. We work together and leverage everyone's competence.

In the role of counselor at Rinman 3, you will travel to the various units. Therefore, you must have a valid B-driver's license for this position.

Job Responsibilities

As a school counselor, you work to promote health and prevent issues regarding our students' well-being. In addition to individual conversations, you are also proactive and serve as a bridge between home and school. You are active in meeting the students. As part of the promoting and preventive work, you are also present in classrooms to discuss student health-related topics, for example, you conduct training in MVP (Mentors in Violence Prevention).

You have great opportunities to influence, plan, and drive your work with the student's best interests in focus. You are part of a work team together with teachers, special education teachers, and supervisors. Together with your colleagues, you drive the work forward and develop working methods. We work with action plans that we implement and follow up on systematically. You supervise, guide, and create good collaborations with guardians and school staff. Collaboration with external parties and authorities is also included.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university degree as a social worker or behavioral scientist with a pedagogical focus. You need to have experience in leading groups as you have a leadership role in your work team. It is positive if you have previously worked as a counselor and if you have experience working with youth with complex needs. It is also good if you are accustomed to collaborating with other interventions related to the municipality and region. If you have knowledge or experience with the conversation methods MI (Motivational Interviewing) or MVP, it is a plus.

You are a calm person who is secure and stable in your professional role. You easily build trusting relationships and meet both children and adults with warmth, engagement, and sensitivity. You are self-reliant and structured but also enjoy collaborating with others. Your ability to remain calm makes you secure even in challenging situations.

A valid B-driver's license is required for the position.
