After a few years in the industry, you know what it takes for a combined heat and power (CHP) plant to function. You know how a boiler behaves, how the process connects, and when something isn't quite right.

To the CHP plant in Strängnäs, we are now seeking an experienced operations technician who wants to become part of our team and help develop our operations forward.

You will have an important role in a local CHP operation

In Strängnäs, we produce district heating for customers in the municipality, electricity for the grid, and steam for nearby industries. We work with waste wood and wood chips as fuel and are an important part of the local energy supply.

We are a small operation with approximately 15–20 employees where we work closely together and help each other across our roles. Here, there are short decision-making paths and opportunities to influence how we work.

In recent years, the operation has been in a development phase, and since Solör Bioenergi took over the plant, we have built upon our organization and working methods. We have a strong local anchoring and are now continuing to develop a stable and well-functioning operation for the future.

About the role

As an operations technician, you are an important part of our production. You work in the control room where you monitor and control the process, operate the boiler, and ensure that the plant functions stably and efficiently.

You also work out in the plant with rounds, troubleshooting, and practical interventions together with your colleagues. Since we are a small team, we help each other and take joint responsibility for solving both everyday and more acute situations.

The role includes, among other things:

• Operating and monitoring our grate boiler from the control room
• Optimizing operations and adjusting parameters based on current operating conditions
• Following up on operational data and acting on deviations
• Conducting rounds and checks out in the plant
• Troubleshooting and handling operational disruptions
• Contributing your experience to the development of our working methods

The work is done in 12-hour shifts according to a rolling schedule, which provides the opportunity for longer continuous periods of leave.

Who are you?

We believe you are a person who takes pride in getting a plant to function well. You are secure in your professional role and enjoy the combination of technology, problem-solving, and responsibility.

To succeed in the role, you need to have:

• Experience from operations at CHP plants, heating plants, or other process industries
• Experience operating boilers and working with process monitoring
• Understanding of how different parts of the process affect each other
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in operations
• A humble approach where you are happy to share your experience
• A valid driver's license (Category B)
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Experience with grate boilers, waste wood/chips, or CHP production with district heating, electricity, or steam is meritorious.
