Ensure technical changes are implemented with safety, quality, and long-term operational reliability in focus.
Do you want to help develop safety in a complex process industry? On behalf of AkzoNobel Adhesives, AxÖ Consulting is looking for a Machine Safety Specialist for their production facility in Kristinehamn. Here you will have a central specialist role where you ensure that technical changes, machines, and facilities meet high requirements for safety, function, and long-term operational reliability.
AkzoNobel Adhesives has been manufacturing wood glues and resin systems in Kristinehamn since 1962. The products are used, among other things, in the manufacture of furniture, joinery, flooring, and load-bearing structures. AkzoNobel Adhesives is primarily a production facility where our employees have various roles, such as process operators, logistics and service operators, as well as a range of support functions within R&D, engineering, quality, and customer service. From the factory in Kristinehamn, large volumes of wood glue and resins are delivered to customers around the world.
About the role
As a specialist in machine safety, you will become an important part of the technical organization and report to the Technical Manager. You work closely with colleagues in engineering, maintenance, and production and have a central role in ensuring that machines, facilities, and technical changes comply with current legislation, internal standards, and the company's high safety requirements.
You are the natural contact person when machines are modified, new equipment is installed, or improvement proposals are to be implemented in practice. Through your specialist competence, you contribute to well-founded decisions and ensure that changes are implemented safely before they are put into operation.
An important part of the assignment also involves developing preventive maintenance. You work with identifying and classifying safety-critical equipment, developing maintenance strategies, and creating conditions for a safe and reliable facility over time.
In the role, you will among other things:
- drive and follow up on change management processes (MOC)
- plan, lead, and participate in risk assessments and risk analyses
- conduct pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR) before commissioning new or modified facility parts
- produce, update, and quality-assure technical safety and process documentation (PSI)
- provide support in matters concerning CE marking, the Machinery Regulation, and other relevant regulations
- participate in internal and external audits within technical safety.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you who have several years of experience in machine safety within the process industry and who have a good understanding of how technical changes affect both production, maintenance, and safety.
You likely have a technical education or have acquired equivalent competence through work experience. The most important thing is that you have the experience and confidence to independently drive issues related to machine safety.
We see that you have experience with:
- machine safety in the process industry
- risk assessments and risk analyses
- CE marking as well as the Machinery Directive or Machinery Regulation
- development of preventive maintenance, identification, and classification of safety-critical equipment
- work based on relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
You communicate fluently in Swedish and have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
To thrive in the role
You are a person who combines a strong technical interest with a structured approach to work. You thrive in a specialist role where you get to analyze, challenge, and develop working methods, while also having an easy time creating good collaborations with different functions in the business.
Since you will be an important support in safety matters, you need to be clear in your communication, have integrity in your assessments, and be able to drive issues forward in a trustworthy manner.
Why AkzoNobel
At AkzoNobel Adhesives, you become part of an international industrial group where safety, sustainability, and technical development are high on the agenda. Here you get the opportunity to influence how safety work develops in a facility with a long history and great future ambitions.
You are offered, among other things, collective agreements, reduced working hours, wellness benefits, lunch benefits, and good opportunities for competence development.
