Job Description

We are expanding and are now looking for a Calculation Engineer in Structural Analysis to join our team in Trollhättan!

Here, you will work on exciting and technically challenging calculation assignments for both Swedish and global clients. We are a team with extensive experience in both implicit and explicit FEM analyses for clients within defense and automotive development.

The Role

We are looking for someone with experience in strength and life-span analysis using implicit FEM, preferably from the defense or automotive industry. As a Calculation Engineer with us, you will:

• Drive projects where we have overall responsibility for analysis deliveries.
• Work closely with the client, sometimes on-site, often in a hybrid model.
• Develop systems together with designers, within both automotive and defense products.
• Become part of a team with strong cohesion and high technical competence.

The work is varied and offers great opportunities to both deepen and broaden your technical competence. Sometimes we work according to the client's existing methods, just as often we help the client develop methods.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an MSc with a focus on structural mechanics and experience with FEM calculations, preferably from the automotive or defense industry. You are accustomed to working in tools such as ANSA and OptiStruct/Nastran or Ansys, and if you also have knowledge of Abaqus, we see that as a big plus.

We prefer that you live in or are moving to Trollhättan or the surrounding area, and that you want to build your career here in the longer term. A driver's license is meritorious as some client assignments may require travel.

• You have a few years of experience in the field and are used to working independently.
• You are communicative and have an easy time building strong, professional relationships both internally and externally.
• You thrive in teams and enjoy collaborating to achieve the best results.
• You are curious, engaged, and can quickly get up to speed with new technical areas and working methods.
• You represent AFRY in a secure and professional manner and welcome new types of assignments.
• You have good communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing, and can present analysis results in a clear and pedagogical manner.
