Job Description

Do you want to help develop systems for statistical production that underpin important decisions in both politics and business? Do you want to develop alongside knowledgeable colleagues and have the opportunity to contribute to important societal projects? With us, you will belong to the IT department in Örebro, with approximately 140 dedicated colleagues, and be responsible for the systems that enable this statistical production. In a world where it is becoming increasingly difficult to know which information you can trust, our mission to steer towards the future using facts is more important than ever.

We are now looking for 1–3 experienced system developers for our IT development unit, which works with both maintenance and new development. Here, you will help develop and further develop our systems, primarily in .NET and web technologies, but also with other technologies such as SQL. You are expected to take responsibility for solution design, code quality, and contribute to technical decisions, driving the work forward together with the team and the IT architect. You share your knowledge and absorb that of others. As needed, you also serve as a support for less experienced developers.

We work according to a team-based approach where we value collaboration combined with individual responsibility. We see value in having team members with different experience backgrounds and apply an agile working method to quickly adapt to new conditions and needs.

Do you want to...

  • Be part of a dedicated and competent team?
  • Collaborate with IT architects, requirements analysts, testers, and engaged clients?
  • Have the opportunity to work with varied, exciting, and meaningful tasks?
  • Work in a creative environment and culture that encourages personal and professional development?
  • Develop future-proof IT solutions that enable SCB's important societal mission?
  • Have good opportunities for competence development and try out different system development areas?

... then we think this position might be really interesting for you!

Qualifications

We want you to have:

  • A degree in Data Engineering, System Science, or equivalent, at least a 3-year university education that we assess as equivalent.
  • Several years of professional experience as a system developer (at least 5 years, excluding courses and internships within education).
  • Several years of professional experience in system development in development environments using C# and .NET.
  • Professional experience in development using SQL.
  • Professional experience in developing for modern web clients.
  • Professional experience working in a collaboration tool for system development such as Azure DevOps Server or Git.
  • Professional experience working with unit tests.
  • Professional experience working with agile methods as a working approach.
  • Good ability to communicate in speech and writing in Swedish.

Meritorious qualifications:

  • Professional experience in development using Javascript/Typescript.
  • Professional experience working with Entity Framework.
  • Professional experience in development using React.
  • Professional experience in development using Akka.NET.
  • Professional experience working with queue management systems such as RabbitMQ.
  • Professional experience working with technical design or contributing to solution architecture.
  • Professional experience documenting and breaking down requirements into developable PBIs.
  • Experience working with system development within a larger and complex organization, where collaboration between different roles and functions is a central part.

For this to be a good match for both you and us, it is important that you have good collaboration skills. You thrive in teams, work well with others, and contribute to your colleagues' success in their work.

You take initiative, contribute ideas, and drive the work forward. You are curious and proactive, and have an easy time adapting, switching between tasks, and reprioritizing when conditions change.

You have good analytical skills and enjoy working with complex issues. You work systematically, take responsibility for your deliverables, and value quality in your work.
