Do you want to work to ensure sustainable food procurement in a socially vital operation?
Region Sörmland, Business Service Meals, is now recruiting a procurement specialist responsible for all food procurements for the region's meal services.
In this role, you will have a key position in creating sustainable, high-quality, and cost-effective food contracts for hospitals, restaurants, and other operations within the region.
Your Responsibilities
As a procurement specialist, you are responsible for the entire procurement process within the food sector – from needs analysis and market dialogue to implementation and contract follow-up.
You will work closely with operations, our purchasing organization, and collaboration partners in other regions. The role is both strategic and operational, involving many contact points, significant personal responsibility, and the opportunity to influence working methods and development in the area.
The work is primarily conducted through project-like processes where several procurements often run in parallel over time.
The location is Nyköping, Katrineholm, or Eskilstuna, with the possibility of remote work part of the time.
The role includes, among other things:
- conducting needs and market analyses
- working with supplier dialogues and RFI (Request for Information)
- planning and executing food procurements
- coordinating needs mapping and requirement collection together with operations
- drafting procurement documents
- conducting bid evaluations and quality assurance
- implementing contracts and initiating contract operations
- following up on contracts, statistics, and key performance indicators
- contributing to the development of sustainable and efficient purchasing processes
- collaborating, communicating, and holding dialogues with operations within Meals, purchasing functions, and other operations within the region, as well as wholesalers and suppliers
Your Qualifications
You have a relevant university education in, for example:
- Food Economics/Food Science
- Public Procurement
- Economics
- or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
You have experience in public procurement, preferably within food or meal services. Experience of working according to LOU (Public Procurement Act) is a requirement.
It is meritorious if you have experience of:
- the food industry
- meal services or public gastronomy
- head of dietetics in public operations
- contract follow-up
- sustainability work in food purchasing
- working in procurement and follow-up systems such as Hantera Livs/Procure & Spend
- project management or process leadership
As a person, you are

- communicative and team-oriented
- confident in driving processes forward towards clear deadlines
- Excellent skills in Swedish, both spoken and written

About Us
Meals within Region Sörmland is responsible for meal solutions for care, patients, restaurants, and other operations in the region. The operation works actively with quality, sustainability, and resource efficiency to create good meals and smart use of tax funds.
Employment Type
Permanent position, 100%. Start date according to agreement.
