Join us in accelerating the transition to a sustainable society.

Job Description

AFRY’s business area Public & Commercial Places, with approximately 1,000 employees, is one of Sweden’s leading players in the construction and property sector. Within building construction, we work on both complex new-build and renovation projects, focusing on sustainable, robust, and cost-effective solutions.

In Örebro, you will become part of a growing team with a strong local presence and good anchoring in the region. We have agreements with several major customers in the region, including Region Örebro County, which means you will likely work on projects related to hospitals and healthcare environments – often with high demands for functionality, robustness, and longevity.

You will work on both local assignments in the Örebro region and larger national projects, often in close collaboration with public and private clients. The role offers a varied and developing daily routine where you follow projects through the entire process – from early stages and system specifications to construction documents and production.

The office in Örebro currently consists of about twenty employees within Public & Commercial Places, with main competencies within HVAC and electrical engineering. Our building construction operations in Örebro are under development, giving you a unique opportunity to establish and develop the offering locally – both technically and commercially.

As a Project Manager within building construction, you have a central role with both technical and commercial responsibility.

You will:

  • Lead and be responsible for construction assignments from the early stage to final delivery
  • Ensure quality, time, and economy in projects
  • Be a consulting partner to customers in both local and national projects
  • Drive technical solutions within building construction in collaboration with AFRY’s combined competencies across several disciplines
  • Coordinate and lead project teams and support and develop colleagues
  • Contribute to building and developing AFRY’s structural engineering offering in Örebro and the Mid Sweden region

Here you have the opportunity to combine technical expertise with business understanding and leadership in projects that contribute to societal development. Our culture is characterized by collaboration, engagement, and development – we believe the best solutions are created together.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • Several years of experience (from approx. 8 years) within building construction as a consultant
  • Experience in assignment or project management with responsibility for quality, time, and economy
  • Very good competence in static calculations and dimensioning, as well as good familiarity with working according to Eurocodes and BBR (Building Regulations)
  • Good knowledge of Revit and/or Tekla
  • Experience with complex projects, preferably within hospitals or other technically demanding environments
  • Experience working closely with customers and driving business dialogue

To thrive with us, we believe you:

  • Have a stable technical foundation and are confident in making decisions in your role as a lead structural engineer
  • Enjoy a leadership role where you are responsible for driving and coordinating construction work in projects
  • Have a clear business drive and appreciate working closely with customers, contributing to developing our relationships in the region
  • Have strong analytical skills and a structured approach, enabling you to handle complex technical challenges and create robust, cost-effective solutions
  • Are solution-oriented, quality-conscious, and thrive in projects with many interfaces

You communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and hold a B driver’s license.

Meritorious experience includes:

  • Experience with complex projects, such as hospitals, defense, or security-classified buildings
  • Advanced competence in steel and/or concrete construction
  • Certifications or specialist roles within construction or building design
