The Swedish Armed Forces are in an expansion phase and on a significant growth journey.

Do you have an interest in technology, are you curious, engaged, and eager to develop alongside competent and dedicated colleagues with an employer that encourages good health and work-life balance?

Does this sound like you? Read on!

About the Unit

In this role, you will belong to the Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Regiment (FMTIS) and work as a Security Technician and Electrician.

Here, you will be a vital part of a successful team within a rapidly growing regiment. Together with competent and dedicated colleagues, you will have responsibility, development opportunities, and challenges.

All of this with an employer that promotes work-life balance and good health. You are offered opportunities such as fitness time during work hours, generous working time agreements, parental leave, and up to seven weeks of vacation per year.

FMTIS has five units that perform operations and maintenance of the Swedish Armed Forces' command and control systems. Implementation Unit (GE) North is one of them.

GE North has a geographical spread that largely covers Norrland (Northern Sweden) and is staffed with both military and civilian personnel. The Implementation Division in Sollefteå is one of the divisions within GE North, and as an employee, you will be based in Östersund.

About the Position

In this position, you will primarily be responsible for electrical installations and the maintenance/installation of security products within alarm, access control, and surveillance systems in a local and global installation and network structure. The role also includes functional responsibility related to self-control programs and regulatory compliance for electrical installations, tailored to the unit's needs.

Furthermore, you will work in close collaboration with various regiments and suppliers to handle and answer questions within the technical field and provide technical support to decision-makers in organizations such as the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and the Swedish Defence Engineering Agency (Fortifikationsverket).

You will also take on functional responsibility primarily related to electrical installations, and you will develop in this role based on your current status as a technician/mount.

The position also includes administrative tasks.

The work is primarily based in Östersund, but you will also move around in the area we call Lower Norrland. It should be noted that work may sometimes take place at inconvenient times, as well as in other parts of the country or abroad.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Upper secondary education with a focus on electricity/telecom technology, or equivalent knowledge and skills assessed by the employer as equivalent.
  • Experience as an installation electrician for at least 3 years.
  • Valid electrical authorization (A, AL, B).
  • Experience within IT/networking.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Driver's license, class B or higher.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, engaged, service-oriented, and a positive team player.

You are not afraid to step up and act, and you approach work with humility, flexibility, and precision. You thrive when taking significant personal responsibility. The Swedish Armed Forces need an ambitious problem solver in this role; we aim to "finish" our missions.

We also view positively your willingness and curiosity to develop together with your colleagues in the technical field within GE North. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Merits

  • Experience working with mechanical and electromechanical locks.
  • Experience within access control, alarm, and surveillance systems, including administration of these (e.g., Unison).
  • Experience with backup power systems.
  • Completed conscription or basic military training.
  • BE and/or C driver's license.
  • Leadership experience within your career or other activities, such as sports, home guard, etc.
  • Experience related to the administration of routines and regulatory compliance.

For the agency's mission to be successful, it is assumed that all employees act according to the existing value base.
