About the Role
As the Department Manager for Hazardous Waste, you are responsible for a specialized reception and treatment facility for hazardous waste in both liquid and solid forms. The role combines operational leadership with chemical and technical expertise, where you ensure that materials are identified, classified, treated, and further handled in a safe and correct manner. You have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, working environment, and economy, leading a team of five employees, including an operations manager. Simultaneously, you ensure that the operations are conducted in accordance with current legislation, permits, and authority requirements.
A key part of the role is to understand and assess incoming materials and ensure that the correct treatment, purification, and further handling take place based on the material's properties and classification. You also work on developing the company's processes and ensuring sustainable and efficient solutions for the further handling and disposal of incoming and treated materials.
As part of the role, you will be trained as both a Safety Advisor for the Transport of Dangerous Goods and a Supervisor for Flammable Substances. Ohlssons covers the training required for the assignment, and in these functions, you will become a key support for the operations, other companies within the group, and external customers in matters concerning the classification, storage, handling, transport, and regulatory compliance of hazardous waste.
Main Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for operations, personnel, working environment, and economy.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and authority requirements.
- Responsible for the facility's results and follow-up of goals within safety, environment, quality, and productivity.

- Act as a specialist and advisor to customers in matters concerning hazardous waste and dangerous goods.
- Ensure safe and efficient handling of material flows from reception to final treatment or disposal.
- Prepare declarations, classifications, and transport assessments.
Profile
We believe you are a person who thrives with responsibility and values order, quality, and structure in your work. At the same time, you are flexible and have the ability to find solutions when conditions change. With a secure and non-hierarchical approach, you build trust with employees, customers, and partners.
Experience and Qualifications

- At least 5 years of experience in leadership with both personnel and result responsibility.
- Experience from hazardous waste handling, chemical management, process industry, or other permit-regulated operations.
