Your Role

In the Shipbuilding Engineering department, we work with production costing, construction methodology, and assembly sequencing, including geometric assurance and make/buy assessments.

We also work with production aids, fixtures, design analyses, and preparation of work orders for the product's manufacturing documentation. Additionally, we plan for efficient production implementation within the production facility's equipment and processes.

You will work on both new construction and modernization projects for submarines and surface vessels. Over time, you will have the opportunity to work with the entire lifecycle of the products and across all phases of the projects. You will be a vital part of the collaboration between design and production.

Your daily work involves multiple cross-functional interfaces, and your day-to-day often includes dialogue with engineers in cross-disciplinary technologies, procurement, design, and production personnel.

Your Profile

Perhaps you are just starting your career, or you are a senior engineer with several years of experience in production engineering preparation and the engineering profession. The most important thing for us is your willingness to develop yourself and others, your good collaboration skills, and your ability to take ownership and initiative. We are looking for you with a genuine interest in technology and people, and who understands the importance of interacting and working cross-functionally to find the best answers to complex problems.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical Engineering, Marine Design, or equivalent professional experience
• Good communication and presentation skills in Swedish and English, both verbal and written
• Natural initiative and a desire to take ownership of your contributions
• Humility and perseverance to constantly improve and develop our operations
• Strong technical interest and a curious approach

Merits

• Marine industry, process, or manufacturing industry within steel, machining, or surface treatment
• Large-scale, complex development projects and operations
• Technical project management/coordination within process or product development
• Design and creation of production documentation

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the security clearance regulations in effect at the time. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
