Lunds Waldorf School, founded in 1978 and located in the scenic area of Hardeberga near Lund, is now seeking flexible and dedicated hourly substitute staff for the school kitchen. The school is a non-profit foundation based on idealistic principles, with approximately 170 students in grades F–9 and around 40 employees.

Lunds Waldorf School operates on the principles of Waldorf pedagogy, where care, community, and a close relationship with nature are integral parts of the school's holistic approach. School meals are a vital part of the students' day, contributing to security, well-being, and good conditions for learning. In our kitchen, we prepare exclusively vegetarian meals.

Responsibilities

As an hourly substitute in the kitchen, you will step in as needed and support the daily work in the school kitchen. Your tasks may include:

  • assisting with the preparation and serving of vegetarian meals,
  • setting and clearing tables in the dining hall,
  • dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and serving areas,
  • assisting with simpler kitchen tasks as instructed,
  • following hygiene, food handling, and self-control routines,
  • contributing to a pleasant and secure mealtime environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

You must be available for at least one substitute shift per week. If this is not possible, we kindly ask you to refrain from applying for the position.

Experience working in a kitchen, large-scale kitchen, restaurant, or school is advantageous. We would appreciate it if you have experience working in a kitchen and preparing vegetarian meals at a high pace for large groups. Most importantly, you are responsible, meticulous, and willing to help where needed.

We would also like you to:

  • have a good understanding of hygiene and food handling,
  • be able to follow instructions and routines,
  • collaborate easily with colleagues,
  • be flexible and able to step in with short notice,
  • treat students and staff with friendliness and respect.

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who is flexible, responsible, and positive. You are practical, meticulous, and a good team player. You thrive in a varied role where the pace can sometimes be high and tasks may vary from day to day.

Terms of Employment

Hourly employment with hours based on need.

Salary according to collective agreement.

Application

Please send your application with a CV and cover letter as soon as possible. Interviews will take place during the first weeks of August. A certificate of good conduct (police record extract) is required upon employment.

We look forward to receiving your application – we are excited to potentially welcome you as part of our dedicated team at Lunds Waldorf School!
