Planning Department (G58), A 8 Regimental Staff

As a Case Officer, you will belong to the Planning Department (G58), which is part of the A 8 Regimental Staff. The Regimental Staff consists of five departments and is responsible for coordinating, and in some cases managing and leading, the regiment's operations under the command of the Regimental Commander.

G58 is the department for long-term planning (5) and economy (8). The department also supports the business management process. Currently, the department consists of seven people, including three officers and four civilians.

Main Responsibilities

Your primary task as an Infrastructure Case Officer is to support the Commander of A 8 (C A 8) with physical planning by leading and coordinating the infrastructure processes within A 8.

You consolidate the needs for new, renovation, and expansion projects at A 8, as well as the needs for maintaining existing infrastructure. You participate in meetings with, for example, the Army Staff (AST), Local Planning Units (LplE), the Swedish Fortification Agency, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, Military Bases (MB), and civil contractors when necessary. The position requires security clearance, and the duties involve business travel.

You also have duties as A 8 Fire Safety Officer and Electrical Safety Case Officer, which involves overall coordination responsibility. No specific education or prior experience is required for these roles. If you lack relevant education in these areas, the employer will provide training opportunities after employment.

The duties include:

  • Being the main case officer for A 8 and representing C A 8 in infrastructure processes.
  • Gathering, analyzing, documenting, and following up on A 8's needs for facilities, premises, and spaces.
  • Coordinating space utilization within the regiment and collaborating on space utilization in the garrison.
  • Processing correspondence regarding properties and infrastructure.
  • Serving as the unit's Electrical Safety Case Officer and assisting C A 8 and the line organization with support and training in electrical safety.
  • Serving as the unit's Fire Safety Officer and coordinating A 8's fire safety organization.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in leading project work, or equivalent experience assessed by the employer.
  • Experience in training, as the role partly involves training personnel and managers.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • A valid B-class driver's license.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education in real estate or civil engineering with a degree, or equivalent experience assessed by the employer.
  • Knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' operations, facilities, and premises.
  • Work experience from similar work in a government agency.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Education and/or experience in electrical safety.
  • Education and/or experience in fire safety.

Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.

The position is civilian and will involve a wartime assignment. Physical training is part of your work. Normal working hours are daytime 07:30–16:30, but evening and weekend work may occur. Business travel is required.

Boden Artillery Regiment, A 8, is the Swedish Armed Forces' competence center for indirect fire. The regiment preserves and develops competencies, equipment, and methods for the future ability to detect and hit targets at long range and with high precision. A 8 has functional responsibility for CAS (Close Air Support) – leading air support against ground targets, as well as for weather services within the Army in the Swedish Armed Forces. Winter warfare is a special competence for the unit in Boden.
