The Economics Unit is a service-oriented support function where we together provide professional economic support to the municipality's management and managers. You will have an important role in the budgeting and accounting work for the entire municipality. The work as an Economic Strategist also involves ensuring compliance with economic regulations and producing economic material.

As an Economic Strategist, you drive the ongoing economic work and ensure that operations receive appropriate and professional support in economic matters. The role involves proactive work with analysis, follow-up, and advisory services that form an important basis for the management and decision-making of operations. The work involves presenting complex economic relationships in a pedagogical way to managers and politicians. But also ongoing reporting, primarily in connection with interim accounts and annual reports.

The role includes among other things:

• Produce and analyze economic material related to budget, follow-up, forecasts, and economic planning.
• Conduct qualified economic analyses and investigations prior to political and strategic decisions.
• Be responsible for or contribute to the development of economic strategies, guidelines, and control models.
• Monitor the external environment regarding economic trends, legislation, and development within the municipal sector.
• Compare and analyze key figures and results against other municipalities and relevant references.
• Produce decision materials, reports, and presentations for management and political bodies.
• Participate in or lead development projects within economic control, follow-up, and analysis.
• Be a qualified support to managers and operations in economic and strategic matters.

We are looking for you who have:

• An academic degree in economics or comparable work experience.
• Experience in qualified economic work, preferably within the public sector.
• Good analytical skills and experience working with large data sets and key figures.
• Ability to translate analysis into clear decision materials.
• Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
