Do you want to work on issues that affect people's daily lives – every day?
In Enköping Municipality, you will have the opportunity to help develop a society that works in everyday life – for residents, businesses, and visitors. Here, we combine long-term vision with action-oriented execution, giving you the chance to influence development in a growing municipality.
The Department of Technical and Environmental Services is responsible for what makes Enköping function – from water and roads to public spaces and services. We plan, build, and manage with a focus on sustainability, quality, and the big picture. Our tasks include, among other things, properties, public spaces, water and wastewater, and meal services.
We are now looking for a Green Infrastructure Strategist for the Public Spaces unit.
About the Unit
The Public Spaces unit is responsible for the planning, development, operation, and management of the municipality's public environments – such as streets, squares, parks, playgrounds, pedestrian and cycle paths, and other vital infrastructure. We work both strategically and operationally to create safe, functional, and attractive environments that contribute to a sustainable and growing Enköping.
You will become part of the unit's strategic competence within urban planning, traffic, mobility, parks, nature, and green structure. Together, we work through the entire urban planning process – from early analysis and planning issues to implementation, follow-up, and long-term development. We provide qualified analyses and decision-making support and play a key role in the municipality's planning, development, and expansion work.
1 position(s).
Responsibilities
As a strategist, you will have a central role in the development of Enköping's public environments. The assignment includes strategic urban planning with a focus on parks, green structure, nature, stormwater, and the built outdoor environment. You will be a key representative of the Department of Technical and Environmental Services in detailed planning and development processes, contributing to translating the municipality's goals into sustainable, functional, and attractive living environments.
The role involves broad strategic responsibility where you work with analyses, planning documents, development issues, and decision-making processes. You collaborate with colleagues within the municipality, political decision-makers, consultants, developers, authorities, and other external actors. You act as an expert in your field and contribute to developing the municipality's working methods and long-term planning.
You will also be a key part of the department's continued development, where GIS, digitalization, data analysis, and artificial intelligence are used to strengthen analytical capabilities, planning, and decision-making.
In the role, you will among other things:
- drive and develop strategic issues within the unit's area of responsibility
- participate in the urban planning process and represent the department in internal and external contexts
- produce analyses, strategies, investigations, and decision-making support to aid the unit's development
- contribute to long-term planning, development, and prioritization of investments and development initiatives
- provide qualified support to managers, projects, and operations within your area of expertise
- order, lead, and follow up on assignments carried out by consultants or other external actors
- collaborate with colleagues, authorities, developers, and other partners to develop the operations
- contribute to the development of working methods, processes, and digital solutions supported by, for example, GIS, data analysis, and AI.
Qualifications
You have a university degree as a landscape architect or another academic education that the employer considers equivalent, for example in landscape engineering, urban planning, physical planning, or civil engineering. You have at least five years of experience in qualified work within the urban planning sector, preferably within a municipality or another politically governed organization.
It is a requirement that you have experience with:
- strategic urban planning
- detailed planning and development processes
- parks, green structure, nature, or public environments
- qualified investigative work
- preparation of service reports and decision-making documents
- work in a politically governed organization
- GIS and geographical analyses
- ordering and steering of consulting assignments
- business development and change management.
You have good digital competence and an interest in how digitalization, GIS, data, and AI can contribute to better analyses and more efficient working methods. A B-class driver's license is required.
We are looking for someone who is analytical, solution-oriented, and sees the big picture in complex urban planning issues. You work in a structured manner, take responsibility, and drive issues independently. You are good at building trusting relationships, communicate clearly, and thrive with many contact surfaces. A development-oriented mindset and a desire to contribute to sustainable solutions and the development of Enköping's public environments are important in this role.
Any interviews are expected to start in week 35.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Start date: According to agreement.
We warmly welcome your application!
