Feed Expert – Sustainability & Feed

Växa is a leading knowledge company for farmers involved in milk, meat production, and crop cultivation. Through the advisory services and support we provide, we contribute to increased competitiveness for Swedish agriculture. Our turnover is over 560 million SEK, and we have approximately 500 employees distributed across 27 locations throughout the country. Sustainability is central to us, and our customers and Växa stand for climate-smart production and good animal health.

At Växa, you get development opportunities, good benefits, and engaged colleagues. Together, we make a difference for our customers and members, and it shows!

Växa's Knowledge & Development division strives for very high competence in the most important subject areas related to milk and beef production. We play a vital role by monitoring research results and making them accessible to Swedish agricultural businesses in the form of services and tools. We also carry out assignments and investigations for authorities, food companies, and other actors in the food chain. Our development division also conducts its own projects, both in collaboration with researchers and more applied work at the farm level. Our work contributes to the development of Swedish agriculture by providing a varied and innovative range of services that increase profitability and productivity, ensure good animal health, and reduce the climate footprint.

Who we are looking for

Växa's Knowledge & Development division is now strengthening the Sustainability & Feed team and is looking for an expert with competence in the feed area, preferably with a special interest in roughage. Our new expert will support colleagues in several of our ongoing projects, where we support various companies and organizations within the agricultural and food industries. This gives you a key role in securing our future competence level and helping to meet the increased demand for specialist competence in the feed area. Our new expert, together with existing colleagues, will work to create conditions for a profitable and sustainable agriculture.

In your role as Feed Expert at Växa, you will, among other things:

  • Initiate, lead, and participate in projects, primarily within the feed area.
  • Collaborate with and execute assignments for industrial customers, universities, authorities, and industry organizations.
  • Monitor and compile knowledge and research in various feed-related areas, such as roughage strategy, feed valuation, feeding, ruminant nutrition, agricultural preparedness, and climate impact.
  • Conduct environmental scanning and competitive analysis.
  • Support our advisors and other colleagues on questions within your area of expertise.
  • Disseminate target-group-adapted knowledge internally and externally through various media.
  • Develop the range of services and tools together with other divisions.

Since the current position is newly established, you will have great opportunities to shape the role based on your knowledge and working style.

Your qualifications

To fit the role, we want you to:

  • Have an academic degree in a relevant field; e.g., agronomist or equivalent.
  • Have at least 3 years of work experience in a relevant field.
  • Have knowledge of feed, feed valuation, and ruminant feeding, with a focus on the importance of roughage strategy.
  • Master Swedish and English at a good level in both speech and writing.

The following are further merits:

  • Have knowledge of the climate impact from milk and beef production.
  • Have knowledge of how feed affects milk composition.
  • Have knowledge of roughage production and other crop cultivation.
  • Have previous work experience from working as an advisor or similar.
  • Have experience of practical work on a farm with milk or beef production.
  • Have a doctoral education in a relevant field.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities, such as self-drive and initiative. We believe you find it easy to collaborate with colleagues who have many different competencies and perspectives, and that you are development-oriented, solution-focused, and business-minded.
