About the job

The role involves practical work, sampling, and data collection. Controlled challenge studies are conducted on pigs at SLU's (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) research facility Lövsta, as well as at the Veterinary and Animal Science Centre (VHC).

Your background

You who apply for the position must hold a Bachelor's degree in the Agronomist programme or the Ethology and Animal Welfare programme.

You must also have documented experience in practical work with pigs and be well acquainted with handling, care, sampling, and daily routines within production. It is important that you have a good understanding of animal welfare, hygiene requirements, and the tasks involved in the operation.

Experience in research-related activities is meritorious.

About us

The goal of our department is to promote good animal husbandry and animal welfare, as well as sustainable food production with high product quality, through research and education about animals. Our focus is on feed and nutrition, care and environment, ethology and animal ethics, animal welfare, and animal protection. We are approximately 125 employees working in Uppsala, Skara, Umeå, and Gothenburg.
