About the position

In the role of an archivist with a focus on digitalization, you work to streamline, handle, structure, and ensure the quality of digital information to be preserved for the municipality's various departments. You are an important part of the mission to continue building and developing the municipality's electronic archive and creating the conditions for information to be archived according to current standards for sustainable and long-term storage. You become the link between today's and future handling of archive issues, and you are part of the "Future Information Management" project, which lays the foundation for the entire municipality's future information management.

The work involves structuring and processing material prior to digital archiving, creating and managing governing documents, and providing advice and support to operations regarding digital information management and deliveries to the electronic archive. The role includes identifying ways to streamline handling to facilitate work for the municipality's employees and improve accessibility for other stakeholders.

You collaborate closely with colleagues at the city archive as well as with IT, information security, and system administration. The position also involves monitoring relevant regulations and standards, and you are expected to actively contribute to the development of the operations.

The placement is at the Unit for Information Management and City Archive.

Examples of tasks:

  • develop and manage the municipality's electronic archive
  • receive, review, and structure digital material prior to archiving
  • participate in the creation and management of governing documents and processes
  • follow and monitor regulations and standards within electronic archiving and digital preservation

About the workplace

In this role, you will organizationally belong to the Development Unit within the Information Supply and Digitalization Department. The unit is tasked with developing, adapting, and integrating digital solutions for all of the municipality's operations. The department is divided into five units and has over 100 employees: the project management unit, the service, support, and process support unit, the development unit, IT operations, and the strategy, architecture, and transformation unit.

This position is located at the Unit for Information Management and City Archive. The unit is located within the Municipal Executive Office, the Office and Information Management Department. The department consists of a total of approximately 85 employees and is divided into five units: The Council Support Unit, Legal, Public Guardianship Office, The Unit for Information Management and City Archive, and Office Services. The unit works with information management and consists of 25 employees working as archivists, registrars, and information security specialists, among others.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • academic degree in archival and information science, data/system science, or other education that we assess as equivalent
  • experience working with the LTA system or similar electronic archive systems
  • experience with XML and its ecosystem

Meritorious:

  • knowledge of standards such as OAIS, as well as FGS or other package structure and content standards
  • knowledge of information security and data protection
  • good knowledge of laws, regulations, and information management within the public sector
