We are now looking for sign language interpreters for the National School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, part of Tullängsgymnasiet in Örebro.
About the position
The position is a fixed-term appointment of approximately one year. Your main task will be interpreting for students, but there may also be interpreting assignments between staff. This involves pedagogical interpreting, which requires great flexibility. Teaching takes place both in groups and individually. You will interpret the teacher's instruction as well as the dialogue between students. An interpreter coordinator is on-site to distribute assignments.
Examples of duties:
- Interpreting at meetings between students, staff, and guardians.
- Interpreting in various teaching situations.
- Interpreting during study visits, performances, and lectures.
- Collaborating with educators to adapt interpreting and teaching to students' different needs.
- Actively supporting students' learning and school situation.

Tullängsgymnasiet is a modern technical high school located in southern Örebro with high appeal. The school has close cooperation with the business community and offers vocational training in Construction and civil engineering, Data communication, Electrical engineering, Automotive technology, Transport, and Plumbing/HVAC. We also offer the university-preparatory Technology programme. Tullängsgymnasiet has approximately 1,400 students and 200 employees.
