Temporary Librarian Specializing in Children and Young Adults

Nora Library is centrally located in Nora and is part of the Nora Cultural House, which also houses an art gallery and a music and drama school. The library is well-visited and highly appreciated. The library employs six staff members and is open with staff present for 38 hours a week, in addition to being open with extended hours every day from 8 AM to 10 PM. The operations also include a library bus that provides services to the municipality's preschools and the general public. The library staff work together to create a pleasant library with an attractive range of activities. Nora Library collaborates within Bergslagbibblan, a network comprising nine municipalities in Örebro County.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Nora Library is seeking a temporary librarian specializing in children and young adults to cover parental leave for regular staff. Your role involves promoting reading among children and young adults in collaboration with other staff. This includes inviting school classes for reading inspiration and library orientation. Together with two other colleagues, you will be responsible for driving our library bus to the municipality's preschools. You will collaborate with other colleagues on the library's program activities for children and young adults. Processing arrivals for children's and young adult media is part of the duties. You will be included in the library's scheduled shifts, including Saturday shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Library and Information Science, Librarian degree, or education assessed by the employer as equivalent.
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
• Experience working with children and young adults is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Quria is preferred.
• We value good teamwork skills, initiative, and a service-oriented attitude. Personal suitability is highly valued.
• A valid B-driver's license is required.
