Job Description

We are looking for an engaged student assistant for Lysvik School.

The Solbacka school area is a multicultural school area, and we work with language and knowledge-developing approaches. At our schools, values-based work is constantly in focus and a natural part of our daily work. We base our work on our core values: respect, development, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

As a student assistant, you will regularly support and follow a student during their school day, both in classroom situations, during breaks, and in after-school care. You will help guide the student in the long-term work to achieve the school's social and academic goals.

You will collaborate with the student's mentor, principal, and student health services, and be involved in planning the student's school day and adapting teaching based on their needs. You will help create a secure foundation and good conditions for the student's development and learning.

We are looking for someone who enjoys playing, leading play, is meticulous with schedules, rules, and routines, and enjoys movement and nature.

Qualifications

You who apply have at least a three-year upper secondary education with a pedagogical focus or some years of work experience working with students with special needs. It is an advantage if you are trained as a student assistant.

You have competence and experience in interacting with students in Adapted Primary School (formerly known as Special School), NPF (Neurodevelopmental Disorders), and low-affective interaction. It is important that you have a professional attitude towards students, guardians, and colleagues. To succeed in the job, you need good collaboration skills and an interest in building relationships. If you are also flexible regarding all daily and long-term changes that are part of the job, we believe you can fit the role in our primary schools!

Conditions

The position is a fixed-term employment. If you are offered employment within preschool/school or other pedagogical activities, you must present a clean certificate from the police's criminal record.
