Responsibilities

The role places high demands on your knowledge of the Sami language and its expressive possibilities.

You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

• Working on investigations and preparations within the language field
• Responding to official inquiries (remisses), such as those concerning place and personal names
• Providing administrative support to the Sami Parliament's politicians within the language field
• Supporting and promoting the use of the Sami language internally within the Sami Parliament
• Performing minor translation tasks within the Sami Parliament
• Participating in Nordic-Sami language work where the working language is Sami
• Processing grant applications
• Other duties may be assigned
• Travel is included in the role

Qualifications

You have academic studies in one of the Sami languages equivalent to level C. You have very good ability to express yourself both orally and in writing in one of the Sami languages. You must also have a good command of Swedish in both speech and writing. You should have a good understanding of Sami culture and society. It is an advantage if you understand and can communicate in other Sami languages. Experience from working in the public sector and/or politically governed organizations is desirable.

Personal qualities

In this position, it is important to be self-reliant as you will drive issues independently, which requires structure and flexibility. You must also have good collaboration skills as you will work together with others. You will handle several tasks simultaneously and sometimes with deadlines.

We offer

There is also an opportunity for partial remote work, and we apply flexible working hours. The number of vacation days is based on age, meaning 28, 31, or 35 vacation days per year.
