Responsibilities

The role places high demands on your knowledge of the Sami language and its expressive possibilities.

You will be responsible for various tasks:

• Work on investigations and preparatory work within the language field
• Respond to inquiries, for example regarding place and personal names
• Provide administrative support within the language field to the Sami Parliament's politicians
• Support and promote the use of the Sami language internally within the Sami Parliament
• Perform minor translation tasks within the Sami Parliament
• Participate in Nordic-Sami language work where the working language is Sami
• Process grant applications
• Other duties may be added
• Travel is included in the position

Qualifications

You have an academic degree in one of the Sami languages equivalent to academic level C. You have very good ability to express yourself both orally and in writing in one of the Sami languages. You must also have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You should have a good knowledge of Sami culture and society. It is meritorious if you understand and can communicate in other Sami languages. It is desirable that you have experience working in public operations and/or politically governed organizations.

Personal qualities

In this role, it is important to be self-reliant as you drive issues independently, which requires structure and flexibility. You must also have good teamwork skills as you work together with others. You will handle multiple tasks simultaneously, sometimes with deadlines.

We offer

All employees receive 2 hours of fitness time per week plus a fitness allowance. The Sami Parliament also offers a very favorable commuting agreement. There is also an opportunity for partial remote work, and we apply flexible working hours. Vacation days are age-based, meaning 28, 31, or 35 vacation days per year.
