As Municipal Director, you will have a strategic and socially important role where, in close collaboration with the political leadership and the municipality's managers, you lead a well-functioning organization with great commitment. About the role As Municipal Director, you are the municipality's highest-ranking official and have overall responsibility for leading, developing, and coordinating the municipality's combined administrative organization. Together with the political leadership, you translate political goals into concrete results and create conditions for operations characterized by quality, sound finances, and high social benefit.

The role involves creating direction and uniting the organization around common goals. A central part will be to further develop the interaction between politics and administration and strengthen a culture based on trust and participation. You lead the municipality's administrative management, drive strategic development issues, and represent Lerum Municipality in regional and national contexts.

We are looking for you who Are a secure and experienced leader with documented experience in leading large and complex organizations through other managers. You combine strategic ability with an present and non-hierarchical leadership style and have the ability to create engagement, clarity, and common direction. You are accustomed to working closely with politics and have a good understanding of the interplay between politics and administration. With integrity, good judgment, and a professional attitude, you inspire trust and are a valued conversation partner in both strategic and complex matters. As a leader, you are clear, receptive, and relationship-building. You build trust, create participation, and get people to work towards common goals. At the same time, you have the courage to make decisions, drive change, and create results in a way that gives the organization direction, stability, and confidence in the future. The municipality's leadership model is based on the Swedish National Defence College's Developmental Leadership (UL) and Indirect Leadership (IL).

To succeed in the role, you have experience as a Municipal Director, Deputy Municipal Director, or from another strategic leadership function with close collaboration with the Municipal Director, for example as a member of the municipal executive board, within the Municipal Director's staff, or in another comparable role.

We believe you have

• Several years of experience in strategic leadership in a politically governed organization and are accustomed to leading through other managers.

• Experience in leading larger and complex operations where you have successfully driven development, change, and collaboration.

• Experience in leading other managers and working through management groups, where experience in a strategic position within the municipal sector is meritorious.

• An academic education relevant to the role or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent.

• Good knowledge of public administration, municipal governance, and the conditions that exist in a politically governed organization.
