About the DepartmentDepartment 26 is an acute medical care unit specializing in neurology, stroke, and nephrology. During 2026-2027, thrombectomy services will be established at Falu Hospital, introducing advanced stroke intervention to Region Dalarna. As a nursing assistant, you will play a crucial role in the acute stroke pathway for patients. To ensure we can meet the healthcare needs of Dalarna's residents, we are welcoming more nursing assistants to the department.
Care is provided in multidisciplinary teams alongside nurses, doctors, speech therapists, dietitians, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. The department also includes a coordinating nurse, nursing manager, ward pharmacist, secretary, and two managers.
>New nursing assistants receive an individually tailored introduction based on their background and prior experience. You are also offered the opportunity to participate in Region Dalarna's competency-enhancing training for nursing assistants - KOMPUS. The training consists of nine sessions over one year. The level is basic and focuses on reviewing important knowledge. All nursing assistants are welcome - both new to the profession and experienced staff looking to update their skills.

Job ResponsibilitiesAs a nursing assistant, you work closely with the patient, which requires social, cultural, and professional competence.
You are expected to:
- Make assessments based on risk areas and implement appropriate measures.
- Perform nursing care measures and prescribed checks.
- Collect samples from patients as prescribed.
- Follow current routines.
- Document patients' conditions and actions taken in the medical record system.
- Actively contribute to a good work environment, based on Region Dalarna's values, and ultimately to high patient safety.
Requirements:
- Trained nursing assistant who has completed the Care and Nursing Program or the vocational package Care and Nursing at adult education
- Interest in nephrology, stroke, neurology, intermediate care, and/or acute care
Merits:
- Certificate of protected professional title issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare
- Specialist training in acute care, neuro care, or care and nursing of the elderly
- Advanced course in acute care and/or acute medicine
- Experience in nephrology, stroke, neurology, intermediate care, and/or acute care
- Experience working with documentation in the Cosmic medical record system
