We are looking for you who want to work with young people at our meeting places, that is, our youth clubs for young people aged 13–17, Ungdomens hus Ersboda and Ungdomens hus Hamnmagasinet with a focus on the upper secondary school age. We also operate activities for adults with disabilities.
The meeting places are located within Umeå Municipality, including Sävar, Hörnefors, and Holmsund/Obbola, and are open in the evenings, on weekdays, and on weekends. The activities are voluntary and are based on the target group's perceived needs, ideas, and wishes. Do you want to join us?
Your responsibilities
You will work within the youth activities at Umeå Municipality's meeting places. These have different age divisions and orientations to meet the target group's needs. As a youth club assistant leader, you work to inspire and support young people in taking their place and shaping the content of the meeting place according to their needs, ideas, and wishes.
You contribute together with your colleagues to safe and drug-free meeting places. You have an important role as a role model for the young people.
About you
We are looking for someone who is engaged, responsible, and has a genuine interest in working with young people. You are a secure and positive role model who easily creates good relationships and builds trust. As a person, you are sensitive, flexible, and have good teamwork skills. You enjoy working in a team but can also take initiative and work independently when needed. You have an inclusive approach and treat everyone with respect and care.
We value that you are creative and solution-oriented, and that you can inspire and motivate young people in various activities. You handle challenging situations in a calm and secure manner and have a good ability to set boundaries in a clear and respectful way. Personal maturity and suitability are highly valued.
Requirements
- Completed upper secondary education
- Unrestricted proficiency in Swedish in both speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English
- Valid extract from the police criminal record, in accordance with the Act on Suitability Control
Merits
- Ongoing or completed studies to become a teacher, social worker, sports pedagogue, within culture, or other education that the employer deems relevant for the assignment
- Experience in leadership roles within the non-profit sector
- Knowledge/interest in various activities such as creative arts, games, dance, music, e-sports, sports, baking, or similar
- Knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English
- Category B driver's license when working at youth clubs outside the city center, i.e., Sävar, Holmsund/Obbola, and Hörnefors

Employment Information
Multiple positions, hourly employment (intermittent employment based on need) starting in autumn 2026, initially until summer 2027. The positions do not involve a fixed schedule; you will be contacted when needs arise. Working hours are scheduled for evenings and weekends.
