MUNICIPAL BOARD ADMINISTRATION
The Municipal Board Administration consists of several central support functions including communication, administration, staff, HR, finance, catering, IT, security, as well as investigation and analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Chief Clerk (Kanslichef), you report to the Municipal Director and become a key person in the leadership group of the Municipal Board Administration. The role involves, together with other managers in the municipality and political representatives, contributing to the continuous development of the municipality to achieve high quality, good efficiency, and the best possible results regarding the municipality's welfare mission. Today, the role also includes serving as the secretary for the Municipal Board and its executive committee, as well as a council specialist in the Election Committee.
The Chief Clerk leads the administration's operations, consisting of a centralized registry and municipal archives. In election years, the administration also serves as the election office. The role involves leading a department of a total of 8 people with the professions of council secretary, registrars, archivist, and archive assistant.
The municipality is a member of the municipal association Sydarkivera, and an important task is to develop e-archiving.
One of your primary tasks is to continue the work on streamlining the administration's basic duties, including digitization. To succeed in the role, you nurture and develop good cooperation internally within the department as well as externally with other parts of the municipality. As Chief Clerk, you have close cooperation with the Chairman of the Municipal Board, where additional tasks from politics may be added.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a confident leader with experience in driving efficiency, digitization, and development work in a legally secure manner, keeping the best interests of the municipality's residents in mind. Structure and innovative thinking are key words in this role, as you, as Chief Clerk, work with clarity in various processes.
We are looking for you who are motivated by leading towards results and have a strong drive to contribute to developing people and the organization towards set goals, as well as working in a politically governed organization.
Cooperation, leadership, and communication, as well as the ability to create a good working climate, are key factors for the role. Important personal skills are sensitivity and tact.
We assume that you have a strong commitment to democracy and the municipality's societal mission. You have the ability to work strategically and consider the best interests of the entire organization. To succeed in the role, you have very good ability to collaborate with different internal and external business representatives and express yourself well – both orally and in writing.
We see that you have:
- A university education relevant to the field, such as political science, law, or equivalent.
- Experience from a similar role.
- Very good knowledge of administrative law and the Local Government Act.
- Leadership experience from a politically governed organization is a requirement.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: According to agreement.
