We have our own operations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, the USA, France, Poland, and Germany, and we also export to several other markets. In the Nordics, we are one of the largest players in in-store sales and service. Our strength lies in simplifying our customers' daily lives by taking overall responsibility for selected categories, from assortment and display to follow-up and in-store service.
Business Area Manager Product and Assortment
Pictura is now seeking a Business Area Manager for Pictura Nordic Development (PND), with strong commercial understanding, a deep sense for retail, and a genuine interest in developing products and assortments that work effectively in stores.
PND is entering a new phase where product development will become even more commercially driven, linked to customer needs, sales data, margins, assortment logic, and in-store execution.
You will lead a team of approximately 30 employees within product development, design, assortment optimization, and commercial development. Your mission is to create clear direction, structure, and execution power via PND, from creative idea to finished commercial launch in stores.
You will be part of the company's Nordic management group and report directly to the CEO.
About Pictura Nordic Development
PND is the hub for Pictura's product development and assortment work. Here, products, concepts, and assortment solutions are developed that are designed to work in multiple geographic markets, for different customer types, and in various store environments.
The role requires the ability to balance creative height with commercial discipline. You will drive the work with clear prioritization, stronger assortments, and better collaboration between PND, the market companies, and Pictura Logistics Center, which is responsible for distribution, purchasing, and inventory management within the group.
Your Main Responsibilities
As Business Area Manager for PND, you are responsible for leading and developing Pictura's product organization with a focus on commercially strong products, clear assortments, and profitable growth.
The role includes among other things:
- Lead and develop PND's organization with approximately 30 employees within product development, design, and assortment optimization.
- Drive PND's ongoing transformation towards a more commercially driven, structured, and data-driven product organization.
- Ensure that product development moves from creative idea to commercially executable product and launch in the most effective way without compromising product quality.
- Create clearer working methods, priorities, and decision paths for product development, assortment management, and internal collaboration.
- Ensure that the right time and resources are invested in the right products, categories, and business opportunities.
- Translate trends, customer input, sales data, margin requirements, and assortment strategy into concrete product decisions.
- Build stronger collaboration between PND, the market companies, and Pictura Logistics Center to improve the flow from idea to product, purchasing, inventory, and sales.
- Identify new revenue opportunities, margin improvements, and areas for commercial development.
- Contribute actively to the Nordic management group and the company's long-term strategic development.
Who are you?
You are a commercially driven leader with a strong understanding of retail, assortment, and the product's role in the store. You understand how customers, suppliers, and consumers interact, and you have the ability to translate that understanding into products, assortments, and working methods that drive sales.
You likely have experience from retail, grocery trade, chain operations, purchasing, assortment development, category management, product development, or commercial leadership. You have worked closely with retail and understand what is required for products to function commercially in reality.
You have a genuine interest in products. You enjoy understanding why one product sells, why another does not, how assortments are built, how price and margin affect the whole, and how products need to be presented to work in stores.
You are motivated by developing businesses, not just managing them. You thrive when you get to create clearer structure, build common direction, and translate strategy into practical change in everyday life.
As a leader, you are clear, communicative, and present. You are good at dialogue but also confident in prioritizing, making decisions, and handling internal goal conflicts. You are used to working in an environment with many parallel issues and many contact points, both internally and externally.
You have previously led specialists and are confident in leading people with different competencies, perspectives, and strong opinions. You can create clarity without stifling creativity, and you have the ability to lead an organization from idea and discussion to decision and execution.
You thrive in the borderland between creativity and business. You respect design and product development, but are driven by creating products that work commercially, sell in stores, and contribute to profitable growth.
You express yourself well in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. Travel may be required in the role.
We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
