We are now looking for a Datacenter Systems Engineer who wants to help develop our infrastructure platform with a focus on server operations, virtualization, storage, backup, and modern platform services.

Responsibilities

As a Datacenter Systems Engineer with us, you work with the operation, development, and improvement of the municipality's infrastructure platform. The role includes both traditional server operations and the development of modern platforms for container-based operations and automation.

You work to ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability in both virtual and future containerized environments. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues in IT, security, and business-oriented system administration.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating and managing physical and virtual servers, administering virtualization platforms, and contributing to the development and establishment of modern container platforms
• Managing storage, backup, and recovery solutions
• Working with monitoring, capacity planning, and resource optimization
• Performing patching and security updates
• Working with incident and problem management
• Automating recurring tasks and contributing to standardization
• Documenting architecture, changes, and technical procedures
• Participating in projects, migrations, and technical lifecycle management
• Contributing to the development of future working methods and platform services for modern application operations

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• Post-secondary education in IT or equivalent competence acquired through education and/or work experience
• Experience in operating and managing server and infrastructure environments, with knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux
• Experience with virtualization and interest in modern container-based operations
• Good understanding of networks, security, backup, and storage solutions
• A strong technical interest with the will and drive to continuously develop your knowledge in new technical areas
• Good skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is meritorious if you have experience with:

• Virtualization, container platforms, and modern operations - VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, or enterprise platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift.
• Storage, backup, and recovery - Storage solutions within SAN, NAS, iSCSI, or Fibre Channel, as well as backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam Backup & Replication
• Automation and scripting - Experience with scripting and automation, for example in PowerShell, Ansible, or similar platforms for automated configuration and operations.
• Hybrid and cloud integration - Work with hybrid environments, cloud integration, or CI/CD flows linked to container platforms.
• Security and platform operations - Vulnerability management, patching, capacity planning, and work with secure and stable operations in larger infrastructure environments.
