Nearly 30,000 residents of Gävle currently live with our client. By continuously renovating their properties, building new apartments, creating green outdoor environments, and actively working with collaborations and social initiatives, they take the trust their tenants place in them seriously. As a non-profit housing company with great opportunities to influence society around us, our client plays a central role in developing and managing several areas of the city. For over a hundred years, they have provided homes for thousands of families in Gävle and the surrounding area.
The role of Customer Assistant is a varied job that requires you to enjoy working with service and be curious about your surroundings. In a welcoming, thoughtful, and human way, you receive cases and handle them within the framework of the relevant routines and processes, while ensuring that the tenant understands and accepts the solution.
The start date for the position is September 14, 2026, and the assignment lasts for one year with the possibility of extension. The work is on-site, and working hours will be according to schedule on weekdays from 07:00–15:30 or 07:30–16:00.
Responsibilities
In the role of Customer Assistant, you will be the one providing the right service, at the right time, and in the right way to all stakeholders – with a focus on accessibility, service, and communication. Our client places great importance on good treatment and ensuring that tenants and housing applicants feel heard and seen. They want to be personal and address the needs of all stakeholders.
As a Customer Assistant, you will meet people daily at the reception, via phone, email, and chat. Your main responsibilities include:
- Answering general questions about renting and applying for housing.
- Receiving inquiries from tenants, housing applicants, and other stakeholders.
- Providing status updates on ongoing cases.
- Receiving fault reports.
- Key and tag management.
- Payment matters, such as rent payments, maintenance, and optional order requests.
- Drafting agreements for parking spaces and storage units.
- Terminations of housing, parking spaces, and storage units.
- Mail handling.
We are looking for someone who
- Has a high school diploma.
- Has work experience from service professions and is accustomed to interacting with people.
- Has good computer and system skills.
- Speaks and writes fluently in both Swedish and English, as the tasks require it.
It is an advantage if you have
- Previous experience working in customer service.
- Experience from the housing sector.
We are looking for a person who is positive, solution-oriented, and has customer service skills down to their fingertips. Since the person will have frequent contact with tenants, housing applicants, and other stakeholders, we want them to be good at communicating, listening, and showing empathy regardless of the method – face-to-face, over the phone, or via text. You radiate joy, simplicity, and engagement in customer interactions. During certain periods, the pace is fast, and it is important that you can keep your cool in all situations and see what needs to be prioritized.
