Work on Developing Youth Leisure in Nyköping – Ambassador for Ung Arena

Business, Culture and Leisure works to provide the residents, visitors, businesses, and associations of Nyköping Municipality with good service and a wide range of opportunities, experiences, and activities.

The division's overarching goal is to contribute to a sustainable society with a strong democracy, strong growth, and a good environment to work and live in. The division is divided into four operations and a support staff.

  • The Business Unit supports and develops the local business community with the aim of creating growth in business.
  • Tourism works for a vibrant and attractive place for residents, visitors, and tourists, and markets Nyköping as an attractive destination with the goal of sustainable growth and development of the visitation industry in Nyköping.
  • Culture and Libraries, including the City Library, Arts School, art activities, and the Children's Culture Centre, provide residents with experiences that enrich their leisure time and create conditions for democracy.
  • Nyköping Arenas coordinates and arranges cultural and sports events, concerts, and festivals. They also manage arenas, facilities, and youth clubs, and collaborate with associations and organizers at local, national, and international levels.

In addition to these four operations, there is a central support staff responsible for finance, administration, quality, procurement, strategy, and project management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for you who want to help develop youth leisure in Nyköping Municipality within Ung Arena. You will have the opportunity to work on a feasibility study regarding the ambassador program within Ung Arena during the autumn. Our operation focuses on contributing to a meaningful leisure time for young people aged 13–19.

We work with the methodology of open youth work, which is based on young people's own active engagement and responsibility. This means that young people should be involved in all stages of the operation, from idea, planning, and preparation to implementation and evaluation. The ambassador program at Ung Arena needs to be developed, which is what this feasibility study is about.

An important part of the role involves collaborating with other actors, both within and outside the municipality, to develop methods for promoting, preventive, and relationship-building work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

  • Completed youth leader education or other relevant education assessed by the employer as equivalent.
  • Work experience working with and training young people.
  • Good computer skills and experience using social media as a tool.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Experience organizing youth events from start to finish.
  • Category B driver's license for manual transmission.

Meritorious:

  • Knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English.
  • Experience with the KEKS network's working methods and tools.
  • Experience with ambassador programs.

  • Salary form: Monthly salary.
  • Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
  • Duration: 3–6 months, start: Autumn 2026.
  • Working hours: Daytime.
