We are now looking for our next Head of Automation Section within the Maintenance Department at Billerud in Frövi, Örebro.

As Head of the Automation Section, you lead an organization of approximately 30 employees, consisting of automation electricians, preparers, technicians, and system engineers. You lead the operations through two direct-reporting group managers, who in turn have personnel responsibility for their respective groups. The role also includes direct personnel responsibility for 4 preparers and 6 system engineers.

The Automation Section is responsible for the maintenance of electricity, instruments, OT security, control, and process systems for our board and pulp production in Frövi and Rockhammar.

You have overall responsibility for the operation's safety work, efficiency, economy, working environment, and development. The role also includes responsibility for the section's budget, as well as electrical, radiation, and OT security responsibilities linked to our ISO certifications and regulatory requirements. You are part of the Maintenance Management Group and are a central part of the department's strategic steering.

Your key responsibilities in the role will be:

• Further develop and maintain a strong safety culture, where safety is integrated into the section's working methods, decision-making, and leadership.
• Drive an efficient work order process and resource efficiency, with control over costs, availability, and efficiency in the execution of maintenance tasks.
• Lead through other managers, focusing on clear roles, responsibilities, and uniform working methods throughout the operation and in collaboration with other departments and functions.
• Establish and implement a strategy for improved organizational efficiency for the section in line with Billerud's overall strategy, and promote an even stronger performance and learning culture within the operation.
• The role requires a leader who is confident in complex environments, can combine strategic direction with present and trust-building leadership, and takes clear overall responsibility for both people and results.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of Head of Automation, you have:

• A university or college degree in engineering, electrical, or automation. Alternatively, experience that Billerud assesses as equivalent.
• Documented experience in leadership with personnel and budget responsibility.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.

Meritorious experience includes:

• Leadership experience as a manager of managers.
• Experience of being part of a management group.
• Experience from maintenance in the pulp and paper industry or related operations.

You are an experienced and confident leader who takes overall responsibility for people, results, and long-term development. You lead with integrity, clear strategic direction, and a strong focus on safety and business acumen.

You have the ability to balance strategic understanding with leadership through other managers, creating structure, clarity, and common working methods that enable stable delivery over time. As a leader, you are results-driven, analytical, and solution-oriented, with the ability to see connections, prioritize correctly, and make well-founded decisions even in complex situations.

You are relationship-building and communicative, build trust within the organization, and collaborate effectively across boundaries. Through present and situational leadership, you take the time to understand the operation and create engagement, accountability, and execution power.
