The Technical Department is a unit within the Community Planning Administration responsible for investigating, designing, and cost-estimating infrastructure projects such as streets, water and sewerage (VA) pipes, pedestrian and cycle paths, and parks. We also carry out a significant portion of new construction projects related to streets, roads, and utility networks in Vänersborg Municipality ourselves.

We are currently 17 employees working closely together within new construction and design in the Technical business area. We strive to create good collaborations, a good working environment, and a respectful attitude towards each other.

Job Responsibilities

The role of Infrastructure Worker in New Construction involves carrying out Vänersborg Municipality's investment projects within the infrastructure area, together with colleagues, clients, and contractors. The projects vary in size and content.

Within Technical/New Construction, we primarily work with rehabilitation and new production of water and sewerage systems, new construction of roads, pedestrian and cycle paths, bus stops, and parks, as well as the operation of the existing water and sewerage network.

The tasks are varied and may include pipe laying, stone setting, cable work, assembly, casting, and gardening. The position also includes on-call duties, which means performing urgent interventions on the water and sewerage network and street maintenance.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a tradesperson within earthworks and infrastructure, with experience from the industry and particularly from water and sewerage work in the ground.

You have worked practically in production and have experience with, for example, excavation, pipe laying, and pipeline installation within water and sewage systems. Relevant education is meritorious, but we value practical experience and professional skills the most.

A Category B driving license is a requirement.

It is meritorious if you have a Category CE driving license, permission to drive wheel loaders and excavators, and experience with handling pipe and plan lasers.

We are looking for you who are engaged and driven. You should have good cooperation skills, be social and receptive. We would like you to take great personal responsibility, be willing to take initiative, and be quality-conscious.

The employer will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Conditions

Start date by agreement. Working hours with us are Monday to Friday between 07:00–16:00. On-call duties are included in the position.

A security check with register control will be conducted before employment. This requires Swedish citizenship.
