Job Description
We have a lot going on, and to meet the increasing demand for our services, we are now looking for you who want to work as an Audit Inspector for Fire Alarm Systems. We perform audit inspections on electrical and fire protection systems, carry out working at height tasks in masts and towers for inspecting steel structures, radio communication equipment, wind turbines, as well as control and inspection of bomb shelters. We also work with design and inspection of solar cells, inspection and control of telecommunications facilities, construction site safety coordination, and as responsible supervisor according to the Planning and Building Act, among other things. Our customers range from municipalities, property owners, regions, and the Church of Sweden, to contractors, public sector entities, and industry.
The role of Inspection Engineer within the segment Public and Commercial Places primarily involves inspecting fire protection systems according to the requirements of the Swedish Fire Protection Association, but it may also include investigations, design assignments, and other types of inspections. The work requires good knowledge, both practical and theoretical.
At our offices, you will meet colleagues from your own section with electrical expertise, as well as from other sections in other disciplines such as HVAC, Energy, Fire, Control, and more. You will belong to a group of engaged and open colleagues who are happy to share their knowledge and experience. Within AFRY, we have a national network for certified fire protection system engineers, where we share knowledge and experiences across regions. In Karlstad, you will have several fire engineers who can support you in your daily work. In the team, you will also have a colleague who is a certified audit inspector for fire alarms.
In the long term, other types of inspections not involving fire alarms may become relevant for the right person. For those who demonstrate successful delivery as an inspector, opportunities for further training to inspect other areas may open up.
The starting point is our office in Karlstad, where you work on preparing reports, booking new inspections, and handling administration, but the role also includes time out in the field conducting inspections.
Qualifications
We are looking for a colleague who is interested in technology and keeps up with current regulations. To succeed in the role, you need to be curious and interested in exploring new opportunities and building your own market. You are proactive, driven, self-motivated, and get things done. Of course, there is a supportive team of colleagues around you. It comes naturally to you to contact customers. You communicate openly and honestly and are not afraid to stand up for errors and deficiencies highlighted in a report, while remaining service-oriented and collaborative in your communication with customers.
It is important that you can adhere to rules, routines, and processes and demonstrate high integrity in the role of inspector, as it can occasionally be a demanding role. At the same time, adaptability and responsiveness to the expectations of the customer and the team are required. You have a humble attitude and can both receive and give feedback. In the role, both the personal qualities mentioned above and technical competencies are important for success in dialogue and delivery.
We are looking for you who have at least 3 years of experience with fire protection systems or related technical systems. Being a certified fire alarm engineer (certification according to SBF 1007) is a plus. Experience with design, commissioning, or service of fire alarms is a plus. You have a technical education at the upper secondary or post-secondary level. An electrical engineering education or authorization A or AL is meritorious. Knowledge of SBF 110 and/or AutoCAD is meritorious. You have a good ability to read drawings and technical documentation. Your knowledge of Swedish and English is very good, both in speech and writing. Additionally, you have a B driver's license and good system knowledge of the Office package. We assume you have the technical competence to handle our internal systems such as IA risk analyses, PX, SAP Concur, SharePoint, and Teams.
