Do you want to lead complex infrastructure projects and contribute to the development of Sweden's railways?

We are now looking for an experienced Design Manager for a long-term consultancy assignment within a comprehensive railway project in northern Sweden. The assignment is suitable for you who have solid experience in design within ground and civil engineering projects and thrive in leading, coordinating, and driving projects forward with a focus on quality, time, and economy.

About the assignment

As Design Manager, you are responsible for planning, leading, and monitoring the design process within assigned projects. You work independently within given frameworks and collaborate closely with the Project Manager to ensure that the design is carried out according to set goals.

You will be responsible for, among other things:

  • Leading, steering, and monitoring design contracts regarding time, cost, and quality.
  • Reporting the project status to the Project Manager.
  • Handling communication and notifications towards suppliers.
  • Coordinating design work with other projects and disciplines.
  • Participating in coordination with authorities, municipalities, and other external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that necessary permits and approvals are obtained.
  • Administering and quality-assuring the review of design documents.
  • Coordinating the work of specialists within the project.
  • Monitoring technical requirements according to current contracts.
  • Ensuring that the supplier receives necessary decisions and technical clarifications.
  • Preparing complete request documents prior to tendering.
  • Control-certifying invoices related to design assignments.
  • Being responsible for risk management and actively working with risk-reducing measures.
  • Ensuring that occupational health and safety requirements are integrated during both the design and construction phases.
  • Representing the client at technical meetings, consultations, and permit cases.
  • Contributing to good relationships with property owners and other stakeholders.
  • Being responsible for memo management and ensuring that administration documents are produced.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a project leader, design manager, or project manager within detailed design of ground and civil engineering projects for railways.
  • Documented education in contract law (AB and ABK).
  • Documented education in BAS-P/BAS-U.
  • Documented education in client's occupational health and safety responsibility.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • Valid Category B driver's license.

Practical information

  • Location: Luleå
  • Travel occurs in the position, primarily to Skellefteå.
  • Own car is required for the assignment.
  • AMA Premium license is required.
