About the position

As an assistant nurse with us, you are an important part of our clients' daily lives. Here you support them with care measures; everything from medication and support stockings to social interaction and accompaniment. We operate from premises on Älvtomtagatan, centrally located in Väster. Since our clients are in the immediate vicinity, we walk or cycle between our clients.

We work with a rehabilitative approach and person-centered care where the client's needs, wishes, and abilities determine the goals of rehabilitation. It is important to us that our clients feel secure in receiving good, high-quality service. Therefore, we believe that you, as an applicant, see it as a matter of course to always provide good treatment to our clients.

At Mikaeli Home Care, we have our own internal organization for service measures that primarily handles laundry and cleaning. This allows you, as an assistant nurse with us, to focus more on care measures for our clients.

Quality and good care are important to us, and as an employee, you are expected to contribute to and participate in our development work. Here you have the opportunity to become part of a work group with broad competence, where we both work independently and collaborate with the work group regarding our clients!

Examples of tasks:

• Perform care tasks and, based on delegation, handle certain medications.
• Plan and develop work independently and together with the work group.
• Establish and follow goal plans, routine descriptions, and action plans together with the client.
• Collaborate with relatives and others in the client's network, such as nurses and occupational therapists.
• Document regularly in the operation's documentation system and review existing documentation.
• Have knowledge of and follow the operation's current laws, policies, and routines.

About the workplace

Mikaeli Home Care operates from Älvtomtagatan, centrally located in Väster. We work in the areas of Marklyckan, Baronbackarna, Markbacken/Väster Park, and Hjärsta. We are approximately 30 employees who work in teams with assistant nurses, nurses, and occupational therapists. We also collaborate with Karla Home Care and Nobel Home Care.

The Care and Social Services area is part of the Social Administration. The operation covers care and social services, preventive activities, authority functions in the area, as well as housing placement and home adaptations. Within the Care and Social Services area, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or social services in their daily lives.

Qualifications

As an assistant nurse with us, you are a confident and stable person. You have the ability to meet clients professionally by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. Being responsible for your tasks is second nature to you. You collaborate well with others and relate to them in a listening and smooth manner. Furthermore, you have a positive view of humanity with great respect for each individual's specific needs. Additionally, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. Since we cycle between our clients, it is important that you feel secure doing this. Furthermore, you must have a good command of the Swedish language to communicate with clients and other staff, as well as to document in writing as required by the operation. Since the work involves digital documentation in the operation system, good computer skills are required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Certificate of protected professional title, or alternatively covered by transition rules (permanent assistant nurse on July 1, 2023).
• Ability to cycle.

Merits:

• Class B driver's license.

Other information

From July 1, 2023, assistant nurse is a protected professional title. This means you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as an assistant nurse. While waiting for your certificate, it is possible to be employed as a care assistant. However, if you had a permanent employment as an assistant nurse on July 1, 2023, you may continue to use the title.
